Are you making Bridesmaid Newsletters?

Are you making Bridesmaid Newsletters?

Just curious to see how many Brides to Be will be making/buying/giving them as a general concensus?

If so, please post pics, what info you will include, etc.

I sent a collective email to them onceabout meeting to shop for dresses and I was dubbed a bridezilla. Just keep in mind who your audience is and make sure you choose nice wording. One girl was happy, the other was miffed, the other was indifferent. I was like 'forget this' I'll just call them.

I agree. If you do decide to make one, wording is ESSENTIAL.

I have sent out mass emails to them just to tell them that I don't care if their hair is up, down or half and half but that i watned them all to have it one way then styled however they watned. Emails for things like that. Most reacted ok to it. After the email if they had questions they called me. One of my bms called to complain about having to have it up since the other girls wanted it up. Oh well you can't win. Wording is important though so choose wisely

Not I... I have a small bridal party...1 Matron of Honor & 1 Bridesmaid. I just give them a call.

I would keep the communications on a 1 on 1 basis. I know it's a pain. But, the night before my wedding, I was informed by my bridesmaid from hell that she thought I handled my wedding 'like a business transaction' because I would send emails to 3 of the girls at the same time. (things applied to them because they were local). So, she felt like my wedding was NOT 'about the family'.

I had 2 who lived out of state who I had to call individually because we had to talk about shipping gowns, shipping shoes, etc.

I sent out a BM Newsletter -- my girls loved it. It had very basic information. (I sent it in March). I plan to make another one this summer.

I just made my newsletter-- it isn't a packet like what was attached but it is a word doc set up like a magazine page (amateur style) with all info for the WHOLE bridal party!

sorry i don't know if it is possible to attach a word doc so I took a pic of it ....

I did.... I kept it short and simple. Phone numbers. A link to the dress that I picked since no one wanted to/couldn't be there. Date, time location. Because some of them still can't remember that I am getting MARRIED on July 1, 2006!

I will probably do it via e-mail

I won't be, I'll just work w/ email and the phone. I was in a wedding last summer, and the bride had the MOH email us, and let me tell you, her wording was horrible. It sounded like a class assignment from a nasty professor, or a demanding boss. It hurt all of our feelings, to be TOLD, not asked to look into limos, flowers, and DJ's for the busy bride.
Maybe in an email it's harder to sound nice, but it was pretty brutal, so wording is definitly something to be taken seriously either way!

I think there is nothing wrong with emails or a newsletter. It helps things go smoothly if it is in writing as opposed to saying it. Even though I put things in writing via email, I still had misconceptions. I wish I had thought of a newsletter!

Never heard of it- as long as you play it off with wording and not sound so serious- I can picture my BM making fun of this tho!! I have sent out a few mass e-mails and ask that BM do a 'Reply all' so others can see and we can all be on the same page. I did this when I was MOH and it worked- our problems were other ones! So far-I only did this to pick out dresses-I wouldn't include lines about 'BM duties' They either know this or will research this like I did.

My wedding is so soon I'm only going to send out one more mass e-mail regarding jewlery, staying with me at the hotel, hair/makeup apt I set up, shoes and that should do it. I'm considering them so much with everything they tease me for being too nice! This is a cute idea tho!! I'd probably do one and label it Vol 10 or something!
