I just decided we just have to book a hotel room for the wedding night.....FH doesn't want to spend the money.......but I'll have FIVE OOTer's staying at our house, so we'll have zero time to ourselves if we go home.

I'd like to stay within a 10-15 minute distance from our hall (in Douglaston Queens).

Please share which hotel you're staying in. Thanks!!

We are....

Our wedding is at the Woodbury Country Club and we have a number of OOT guests staying over, so we are staying at the Homewood Suites...

Our reception is in the evening and will end late, so we are going to have shuttles back to the hotel, which we will likely hop on, and be able to wake up as Mr and Mrs and have breakfast with our loved ones.

Ok now I really need your help ladies!! I called the two hotels I thought of, and they're fully booked b/c there's some Merchant Marine Academy event in town that weekend (which is kind of ironic since my dad was a merchant marine!).

I called The Andrew & The Inn at Great Neck......any other recommendations ladies??

How about the Garden City Hotel.
It's a little pricy, but well worth it.
It's about a 15 minute drive from Douglaston.

There's also the Roslyn Claremont Hotel.

We are staying at the Melville Marriott with our OOT guests, having brunch with everyone the following morning.

we are staying at the garden city hotel. . . we got the wedding pleasures package with the King ROOM ( not suite) for under $500

if you get a regular room you can get it under $300 we stayed there for my bday and it was AMAZING!

ETA: i just checked your date and the cheapest room is $345 - you can look right on the website

BUT i would call too bc they said they were booked for my day and when i called they had an opening! so maybe they have a less expensive room

We are staying at The Inn at Fox Hollow. Our wedding is at The Woodlands which is around the corner. Our guests are staying at the Homewood Suites, but we deicded we wanted a little privacy, so we are staying at a different hotel

We are staying at the Glen Cove Mansion b/c all other hotels that we were interested in were booked.
But my #1 choice was Garden City Hotel-
You should make reservations asap.

thanks for your suggestions ladies!!! I called the Garden City Hotel and booked the King room for $459....it includes champagne, free breakfast, a $25 fortunoff gift card & a garment bag for my wedding dress! I still think its a bit much to spend for one night.....but I booked it for now b/c they have a 24 hour cancellation policy (so I have up until 9/14/07 to cancel). I'll do a little more research and see if I find any other contenders!

no way is the GC hotel $700 a night! we are staying there on a sunday night and it's only costing us $250 - and the quotes for a saturday night weren't much more.

oh I should've mentioned that they also said something about some other package that was over $600....that's probably the one they told you about....I kind of tuned out whatever they said about that one b/c I knew I wouldn't want to pay that much!

jenn - the suite with the wedding pleasures package is over $600 maybe they priced you the suite?

Helen- that is a great idea to book it now, not too shabby of a backup either!

Re: are you (or did you) staying in a hotel on the wedding night? if so, which one?

A few weeks ago, the only hotel with a room available on our wedding night was the Fox Hollow Inn. Garden City Hotel had no rooms. Roslyn Claremont had no rooms.

I don't know why...but this weekend I checked the Garden City Hotel website and they had rooms available for our wedding night. I called up and reserved a room for under $300 (the Bed and Breakfast package).

I am so happy!!
