Looks like I'm going to book Denise Venti for my hair (I have an appointment for a trial coming up, but from all I've heard and seen, I'm sure I'll use her).
ANyway, I am using Jacquline Nicole for my makeup and have paid to have all the BMs also done.
Should I also pay for BMs hair to be done by Denise Venti? Because I'm far from her, additional updos are $100 each, so that would be $700 in hair for my BMs.
I just don't know if it's customary for a bride to do this?

From what I understand usually the BMs pay for their own hair and makeup. Sometimes brides get gift certificates for the hair or makeup as the bridesmaids gifts.

If the bride is insisting the bm's get hair and makeup done,she should pay. If it is optional, she does not have too. (unless she wants to!) I am not.

I'm not insisting anything, they can do whatever they want...but I did know that they really really really wanted to have their make up done, so I paid for JN to do theirs.
As for their hair, I'll probably pay for it to have Denise also do theirs, so they really feel pampered!

I was going to pay for everyone's, but the day of my Dad picked up the tab for our hair and makeup. I was so surprised and happy!

I have the same problem. I am going to pay for my BM hair and make-up. 3 of my bridesmaids have already gotten married and paid for mine. Plus, almost all my BM are from out of town.

I paid for my BMs hair because I insisted they had it professionally done (though they picked out the styles they wanted). But I didn't pay for makeup. All but one BM used my makeup artist - the one who didn't bought her own makeup and practiced, practiced, and practiced some more plus went back to the counter where she bought her makeup for several time for tips on how to put on makeup for a wedding.
I just want to add that it is nice if you can pick up some of the cost, but don't go into debt doing it.

the woman who is doing my hair and makeup is doing BMs' makeup - I'm paying for that. But I am still looking for a hair person - I think they'll pay for their own hair as they want their hair done (it doesn't matter to me if they get it done although it will look a lot better).

I plan on giving them a gift certificate for a manicure or something. All the weddings I have been in, I never was paid for.

I don't plan on paying for the BM's hair or makeup.
My FSIL is all 'that' so she thinks..so I'll let her choose her own style. She usually ends up very classy. (saw her for her prom). Girl will do her own make up im sure.
My sister is too young to know what to do with her hair. My father will probably send her to a salon (I'll convinence them that's the best idea), make up? She's 14 I dunno yet.
MOH. She's go to a salon.. sure of it. Her hair type demands it. I told her to keep in mind the cost of hair and make up. We shall see.
I never was picked up for any costs when I was BM .. Mine is expensive enough as a bride!

You do what you can afford..I want to get them some nice jewelry..so I didnt think I could afford to have their hair and makeup done..I asked them if theyd rather me pay for hair and makeup done or a nice gift and they both said gift so that atheyd have it forever..if I did their hair and makeup for them..I couldnt get them as nice of jewelry.I cant do it all..i dont have the money..

I paid for both my MOH's (I only had them, no other BMs) hair and makeup. If I'd had 7 girls, I doubt highly that I would have done it for everyone. I wanted to do it for them becasue since there were only two, they had a lot of costs with the shower, bachlorette party, travel, etc so I just did it to help cut down another cost.

I'm going to pay to get my MOH and 2 BM make-up done. I told them if they would like to get their hair done then they will have to pay for that themselves. That way we all get something done that morning and everyone feels a bit girlie. And I dont have to break my bank...
They were all pleasantly surprised at me paying for the make-up. Should be fun.

I am paying for my BMs mani/pedis the day before the wedding and taking them out to lunch.
I wish I could pay for their hair/makeup but that's just too expensive for me - I made it optional so if they didn't want to get it done, they didn't have to. The salon I go to is very reasonable - $70 for updos and $40 for makeup so at least it won't break their bank.
