Are you planning on joining your bank accounts after you are married?

I am sorry if this is a personal question but I was just wondering. My FH and I have a joint account for wedding and house stuff but we also have existing accounts at other banks.... What do you think?
Thanks!

We closed our other accounts and have one joint checking and one savings account. It makes life easier for us, unless we have to buy one another gifts!

Nope. There really isn't any need. If anything.. we can get a separate joint checking account.

That is what I think that we are going to do also. Thanks

Thank you all for answering...I feel like money is such a touchy subject.

we have a joint savings and checking.. the savings is our house fund and the checking is for all of our joint bills. I also have my own seperate checking/savings for my own bills likes student loans and a personal loan im paying off. He also has his own savings/checking...it just works better for us that way.

This is like what Danielle and I are planning to do. Right now we have a joint savings account, and I have my own checking and saving accounts. I believe Danielle has her own checking and saving account too. I am not sure what accounts we are going to eliminate yet though.

we did....and it's great because we always ask each other before spending money

We have a joint savings account, but then we each have our own savings/checking accounts. Each of us pays for certain bills and our joint account is pure savings. It works for us.

we have always had a joint checking...even before we were married. We did close our own personal accounts, but have decided to re-open them due to a tremendous amount of fighting over how much we spend on personal items.

We have a joint account as well as our own accounts, I don't like the idea of having to explain what I spend money on!!
