I dont, they get $$$ PLUS benefits... and for what we pay for cable the management can tip them if they feel its necessary!

It's definately not mandatory, but after working for cablevision for so long (not any longer), I now that the techinicians do get lots of tips.
It's really up to you.

I'm in Brooklyn, and we've never given them a tip. I actually think they're not SUPPOSED to accept tips, but I could be wrong.

i did with the DirectTv guys.. then i didnt with Time Warner

FH works for Cablevision. Cablevision is all of LI and half of Brooklyn and all of the Bronx. Technically they arent supposed to accept tips but they do anyway. He suggested $10 for installation and use your own discretion for emergency calls or anything else.
