Re: ARE YOU TIPPING THE OFFICIANT?
No and no disrespect to our officiant, we don't feel tipping him because he basically earn enough money for 30 minutes ceremony and we was welcome to stay for the cocktail hour.

Yes we did, 15%, and we invited her as a guest. She stayed through dinner, and was the first person to get pictures back to us!

Re: ARE YOU TIPPING THE OFFICIANT?
No, were we married at RH & he is a pastor not a preist. He was a close friend of DH's mother who passed away 6 years ago. Since he is very cloe to DH's family he did not charge us a fee to marry us. So we ended up giving a very generous donation to his church.

Re: ARE YOU TIPPING THE OFFICIANT?
It is a nice gesture to tip the priests. The fee that you pay for the church is given to the church not the priests. Consider it overheard not a fee to perform the Mass/ceremony. The priests do not see any of that money. Most parish priests are given a small salary but are not given extra for each marriage ceremony they perform.
If you hire a judge or someone to come to your RH to perform a ceremony it is not necessary to tip them since they are keeping all of the fee they charged you.

exactly. i think he would have been offended if we tried to tip him, and the ceremony was only 20 minutes long, so what would the tip have been for?
