Are you walking down the aisle with the blusher over your face?

Original post by Kathy116

Is that what it's called, blusher?

Anyways, are you having your father lift it up and kiss you...or are yo walking down the aisle without it over your face.

Everyone says I should do it, it's a great picture and moment...but I FEEL LIKE A BEEKEEPER with that 'netting'/veil over my face!

With the wedding only days away, I still don't know what to do.

I had NO intention of wearing a blusher over my face, but my Dad and DH wanted me to so bad, so at the last minute I decided to go ahead and wear it. I got a short one that only went right past my chin a little bit to my neck, and it was very sheer so you could see my face perfectly through it. I only kept it on for the walk and my Dad kissed me when he lifted it.

It really was a sweet moment, so I'm glad I did it.

I walked with it down and I kept it down throughout the entire ceremony because I wanted my DH to lift it for the first time.

Yes. Until my dad kisses me goodbye.

if you want to leave it down until FH kisses you so he's the one to 'unveil' you, so to speak, you could always have your dad lift it just a little when he kisses you goodbye, but not completely over your head.
Now, personally, I was practicing this on my own last night because I have waaaay too much time, and it takes a lot more effort to lift it over all the way, so i think this is completely possible and would be a really sweet sentiment!

I did..

I swear Kathy, in the limo when it was just me and dad, the second I put the blusher over my face, it was just soo emotional for me and beautiful.. I was ready to take that step.. I took a look at my father, who was all teary-eyed and he was basically like, you look beautiful, I know you are making the right decision, and know that you are my little girl.. are you ready to go?

it was amazing.. I can't begin to tell you..

There is this sentimental, special feeling that comes along with that and having your father lift the veil and kiss you and put it back down.. it's unexplainable..It's like you're this innocent, young girl walking down the aisle with dad and once the veil's been lifted and your pronounced husband and wife and you kiss, you become a woman..

Exactly the way I feel. And the blusher just adds that look of innocence, elegance, mystery, femininity....

You said it perfectly. I truly felt like a 'Bride' when I put it on, and my Dad was so happy also, the moment was so sentimental

I am undecided, I think it all depends on how I feel, my FH wants me to wear it over my face.

I am wearing it through the ceremony until the end, when my groom kisses me....but that's part of the tradition of the jewish ceremony.

I'll be wearing it for the walk down the aisle with my dad and then have him lift it up. I dont think I could function the entire mass with it on my face.

I will not have it on my face!
I put it over my face in the bridal shop, and i freaked out, I didn't like the feeling on my eyelashes, I felt like I might have a panic attack.

i am till we reach the gazebo - then it is comming off so i can see -
i figured this way in case it is windy etc things wont blow in my eyes ( our ceremony is outside )
guess that isnt really traditional of me - but i figured it is practical
