Re: Are you worried...
I think if you use vendors that have been around and are popular there is no need to worry.

Re: Are you worried...
Recently, taht has comeinto my mind. Im not worried because my wedding is soon but I can see your concern. Just use people who have been around a long time and you shouldn't have anything to worry about!

Nope. All of my vendors are big/popular names and have been around for years.

Re: Are you worried...
No b/c I purposely picked vendors that I felt confident would still be in business a year out. I didn't go with any 'mom and pop shops' for that exact reasons.

Re: Are you worried...
there's always that worry.. but the wedding industry is still going strong (just look at all of us brides on here!) and a lot of us use the same vendors.. i think we'll be ok (fingers crossed!)

Yes, When I was in NY the last time I remember it was on the news that a girl who's parent died and left money for her to have the wedding of her dreams and her RH went out of business and she lost all her money and they were in the process of suing. I was like . Iwould be mad too. I think someone felt bad for them and gave them a wedding huge wedding. I don't remember who I think Oprah but not sure

Also, everyday you see all these big name company's going out of business it makes me wonder. I would have never thought some of the companies that went out of business would....I always thought they would always be there...hopefully that doesn't happen to any of us and if God forbid it did hopefully they give us back our money unlike what happened to the girl

I've been seeing ALOT of big companies going out of business lately...but things are probably different down here in Florida vs. Long Island. I hope things are better up there!

Re: Are you worried...
not at all!
Just make sure you choose trusted vendors that have been around.
ALSO .. DO NOT SHOP FOR PRICE, if they seem to be giving it away there may be a problem!
Just be smart, and we will be fine!

Re: Are you worried...
My father keeps telling me not to book anything until 6 months out in case people go out of business.
I feel confident in my vendors. Even though some of them are new, I am certain that they will survive. The wedding industry is almost recession proof, so I'm not too worried.

Re: Are you worried...
Since my wedding is so far off i am terrified of this. I am pretty sure my RH will be around but what about the other vendors. I have been booking more well known vendors which at times could be more costly. I have been keeping in contact just in case

Not at all...I would only be worried if I was picking unreputable places, but I am not concerend that my vendors will go out of business.

Re: Are you worried...
I was worried about this especially since there was a photography studio in NJ that went out of business and now the people can't get their photos
So when I visited the vendors I asked how long they have been in business and looked at their reviews.
I can't believe some people's RH went out of business that is crazy and scary!

Re: Are you worried...
A little. Most of the places aren't asking for the money until near the end like 3 weeks before the event. I think I may just put the money in an account so in case anything does happen, I just lose the deposit money? I mean, I definitely don't think Leonard's is going anywhere lol, it's been around foreverrrr. As far as the rest of my vendors, I think I'm okay.

Not at all. All the vendors I booked with are very popular and well-known. I highly doubt that woul dhappen.
