Re: Are you writing your vows?
You _______ are my once-in-a-lifetime, my miracle. You are all I could ever need in my life, my friend, my lover, my everything. I will share in your dreams, and support you as you strive to achieve your goals. I will listen to you with compassion and understanding, and speak to you with encouragement. I will help you when you need it, and step aside when you don’t. I promise to cherish you always, remain faithfull to you for better or worse and love you untill forever. This is my promise to you.

Re: Are you writing your vows?
Neither one of us is creative when it comes to words, so we are going to stick with the traditional vows

Re: Are you writing your vows?
Awwwww..... I love it when ppl write their own vows.
BUT...I don't want to do this...I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible.

Re: Are you writing your vows?
these were mine that i wrote myself...(not copied)
I asked God to bring joy into my life, ...and he did. I asked God to bring strength into my life, ...and he did. I asked God to bring love into my life, ...and he did. I asked God for all of these things, ...and he gave me you.
When I had given up on hope, you gave me reason to dream.
When I had given up on happiness, you made me laugh and smile.
When I had given up on my heart, you filled it with all of your love.
When I had given up on love, you proved that I was wrong.
You are the strength I need, the guidance I want, and the love I desire.
Know that I will spend my life trying to be those things to you, in my heart, thru my words and with my actions.
I love you more than these mere words could ever express, and so this is my solemn vow to you.
Dh wrote amazin vows..i'll have to type them in..they were from the heart & blew my friends and family away with what he said.

You totally made me tear up with those!!! Did you guys get through it without crying? I know I'll be a mess but I dont care. Saying our own vows means alot more to me than going the traditional route so I'll just have to stuff kleenex down my corset and deal with it!!

Re: Are you writing your vows?
Here are Dh's vows he wrote for me...i was able to say mine without crying...but he was crying as he said his to me, so i lost it...still cry when i read them!
Today is the first day of our being together - till death do us part. You know that I always say to you - if you aren’t happy, then I’m not happy... But, I have to say, that these words mean more to me then you could ever imagine. Everyday, I wake up, wishing that you will have a day that: -Will bring your dreams one step closer -Will open doors that you never dreamed possible -That you will make the choices that you want, not what others want -That I can bring your life closer to what you want -That I can provide you the love that you so richly deserve -That I can live up to your expectations and desires
I wish that your smile will continue to brighten my day like it has everyday that I have been with you. And that I can honor the love that you have given me and I can make all your dreams come true... till death to us part. I wish I could take away all your troubles, all your regrest, all things bad. I know I can’t, but, I can still be there for you, that I can make yourdays a bit brighter, that I can love you as much as I love you now, and that I can fulfill as many of your dreams as I can. It has been an incredible journey for the past five years, and I know that that journey will continue for the next fifty. Thank you for accepting the responsibility of being my wife...

Re: Are you writing your vows?
I am getting married in a Catholic church also so I don't think we could but we wouldn't have anyway. I am going to have a hard enough time fighting back tears when I have to say the regular vows.
