Are your BM dresses the same style or just the same color?
My BMs have different body types.
I originally wanted to go with a strapless tea length dress but one of my BMs is heavier. I don't think she wants to wear a strapless dress that shows a lot of skin. The rest of my bridal party is thin.
What should I do?

I would ask everyone's opinion on the dress and not single out the heavier girl.
When I was about 20 lbs heavier than I am now (I was about a size 14), I had to wear a strapless dress in my brother / SIL's wedding. I did it, even though I'd never pick out strapless on my own - even now. I just don't like the way it looks on me, but I'd certainly wear it for someone's wedding!
You may be suprised - some of the thinner girls may be uncomfortable about it, too.
But go with what you like. I think it looks nice to have different dresses all in the same color, too.

i think it is a misconception that 'heavier' girls wont look good in a strapless dress - actually strapes is very flattering on a larger figure. I would have them try on some dresses and see what looks good on everyone (if you can get them all together). Othewise you can alwayys go the route of choosing a designer, color, and material and have he girls choose different styles.

All my BM's have the same skirt, but everyone has a different top. Same color and trim color.

The heavier BM has expressed her disliking of showing skin. I think it was a hint but I am not sure. I don't know how to go about it. I don't want to hurt her feelings.
I had originally wanted to have identical uniform dresses but now I'm not so sure.
At the same time, I think it would look odd if my other BMs had the same dress and the one girl had a different dress.

Because everyone's body type is different, regardless of being heavy or not, I decided to pick about 7 BM dresses that I liked. I forwarded these to all my BM's & then had them try on and pick the one that they liked best. To me, it was more important to have them sharing my happiness on my special while having them be happy with how they looked as well. Surprisingly, 3 of them chose one dress and the other two BM's chose a second dress.
Uniformity of style was not important to me - color was.

For my cousin's wedding she took us all to the store and let us take stuff off the racks and look at it on each other and we had to compromise on a dress and we actually did settle for one that looked great on us all. All my girls are wearing the same dress because I like the uniformity. you can have straps added to strapless if a person is really *that* uncomfortable.

We're not sure how many BM we're going to have, but we already decided on color and not identical dresses... we figured it's easier, and it gives people a chance to get something they'd wear again.

I am not sure how I wanna do this..all of my girls are all shaped very differently...I think I will go with teh same dress for all...but maybe in 4 different colors and they can pick out of the 4 which one they want, first come first choice. I am going withteh fall theme so I figure I will use maroons, sage, goldishes, and browns? I will probably just pick one color though..sigh...I am clueless

Same here - I picked something that all of the girls were comfortable with, although I'll admit it's tough to get 6 girls to agree on the same thing, but I went with simple and a dark shade (black).
A few options: Buy her a shawl to go over the dress Let her wear straps - although I find straps to be worse than strapless Let her pick a different dress if you're ok with that - same color and material
BMs aren't in most of your pictures and mostly likely in 20 years you're not going to look back and think 'I can't believe I let her wear a different dress.'

i am planning on doing all lynn lugo dressesin a green dupioni, but each girl in a different style.

I picked the color, fabric, and designer, and then everyone picks their own stye.
All the options for the girls are in my album, they will all be in black.

Both the same color and same style. I would give them the option, see if they are willing to wear strapless and if anyone is uncomfortable, if they are uncomfortable then maybe let them pick the style and you choose the color

Maybe you can get matching belero jackets and if the girls that aren't comfy want to keep them on they can. I would talk to everyone individually and see how they feel about the style. It is hard to find a bm dress where your arms aren't totally showing, esp if your wedding in in May.
I think it is sweet of you to be concerned. Some people would just swear it wasn't their problem, you're a nice Bride!

ETA - I just fully read your post and realized that I had the SAME exact problem. I had all the girls look at BM dresses with me. I picked two that I liked and then I decided whichever one looks better on my heaviest BM is the one I would choose. I chose a strapless tea-length dress also and it looks fabulous on her AND everyone else!

I have the same problem... I have 3 bridesmaids sizes...2 , 12, & 18 & I think I am doing three different dress in the same color.
