Area Rug Help....

We put pergo flooring in our bedroom and need an area rug as well as rugs for the sides of the bed....I have never owned an area rug? How to do you coordinate it to match the room? I have NO clue. Here are our basics:

Floor = medium oak with a tint of cherry in it

Furniture = cherry

WALLS = benjamin moore historical gold

BEDDING AGAINST WALLS:

What style is your furniture? I would guess traditional or transitional. Use that as your guide. You dont have to worry so much about pattern as you do style. For example you wouldnt put a country type hook rug together with traditional furniture and that beautiful bedding.

For color you could use an area rug to bring in an accent color from your bedding. You might want to decide on your budget first. If you are going all out with an investment rug you would probably want to stay more neutral as you are going to change your bedding over the years. You dont want to end up with a $3000.00 rug that dosent match anything!
