ARGGHHH... I'm hating CD favors right now (some advice below)

I am extremely OCD and did my insert papers for the CD favor twice because I didn't like how the first set came out. That's ok, cause paper is cheap. They are now done and look pretty.

Now, I wanted to burn some CD's while at work since I have a burner. I made sure it all worked and I made about 12 (yippeee!). I thought they were fine. I went outside to listen to them in my friend's car and my last song... which is my WEDDING SONG has a slight skip... not really even a skip, just a weird scratchy type of thing. I realize that the one CD I used to burn them had a scratch on that song and caused the 12 others to be scratched too!!!

I am so glad I ordered 200 CD's....so I'll definitely have enough and be able to weed out the 'perfect' and 'not perfect' ones for the wedding (I'm assuming I'll need about 160 CD's in total).

So, my advice, if you are doing CD's is to make sure you OVERBUY your CD's.

I went postal a few times when I did my CD favors... Not to mention the amount of ink I went through because I HAD to do the entire thing in color...

BUT...in the long run...it was sooo worth it. I'm still hearing compliments for the songs and our cover.

Keep up the good work...and being particular! Your guest will love getting something they will actually ENJOY!

So sorry Leese!! But it's true, all of your hard work will pay off in the end and your guests will appreciate the time and commitment that you're making to them!

Thanks... I actually bought my CD's from a guy on Ebay because I didn't want to do 200 myself. I think, though, since I already have the software and labels, I may make my replacements...

Did you find that guests who COULDN'T come, wanted one ... like, if they found out about them?

We're such geeks...we made so many extras that I gave some out to those that couldn't make it and they love them. I even gave some to vendors I really loved like our photo/video - hair - makeup - jeweler, etc. We chose such a wide variety of music that if there's not one song on there that someone likes something is wrong.

I even had a couple of friends test it out different age groups before we finalized our list and they wanted copies before the wedding...

Thanks for this. You aren't a geek at all. I have a feeling my FMIL and Mom would want to give out extras to people who couldn't come.

We are sending out 200 invites and I got 200 CD's... so I think I am going to replace the ones I have screwed up (and/or were scratched, etc.) just to make sure we have enough. Right now, we will probably have about 180.

I really don't want to be burning more CD's AFTER the wedding!
