ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, the stuffing/mailing of my invites was delayed due to a glitch with the direction cards. Okay, not really a big deal. After all, it's not really a big deal to mail them this coming Saturday instead of this past Saturday.

However, that one week (which is not yet up) has now lead FH to realize that he screwed up his invite list. This would be the same man that I harrassed for MONTHS to get it together. The same man who put it together but then had a computer meltdown and refused to do it over for MONTHS because he had already done it once, and would rather spend MONTHS trying to recover the darn file, than ONE day recreating it. The same guy, who when asked for the address of one of his GM REPEATEDLY said - he doesn't have one, we don't need to send him an invite, we know he is coming, he's in the wedding party. The same guy who proofed the invite list after it was sent to the calligrapher. The same guy who made changes when he proofed the list. The same guy, who TWO days after he proofed the list told me his cousin moved OOPS! and no, he didn't ask for the new address.

This same guy NOW says, are we sending GM an invite??? HUH!?!?!? HE DOESN'T HAVE AN ADDRESS!!! He is teaching golf on a cruise ship in the middle of the Bahamas or something. He doesn't have an apartment ANYWHERE in the United States. Just where am I supposed to send this invite???????????????????????

This same guy also says, oh I need to invite X. Who the heck is X?????? In all the time we have been together I have never even heard of this guy. And when I ask, when is the last time you saw this guy, since I've never even heard his name, he tells me, BEFORE OUR FIRST DATE!!!! Explain to me WHY this guy must be invited????

One other question . . . is it bad form to kill the groom before the wedding????????

ETA: In all of this I forgot to mention that Inkspun did my calligraphy and he is on vacation until July 31! My RSVP date is August 25! So, now for these MUST have invites, they either have to be handwritten, or I have to find a different calligrapher to do them.

Umm...you're the attorney...what do you think??

Deep breaths my dear...it's called a penis...because they have one attached to their bodies, it often causes them to have uncontrolled bouts of stupidity!!!

It may look bad in pictures...
Although it would make an interesting sequel to Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

I'm so sorry...but at the same time pretty darn happy I'm not the only one the guest list / addresses/ invites, etc.... nearlycaused FH to have a mental breakdown. Seriously, it's not that hard but it's funny how they stress/stupify over the teeny timy parts we ask them to partake in!

As I told you earlier tonight when you called, do not stress this, there are worse things that could happen.

Just make sure once the invites are out there are NO MORE CHANGES to the guest list!!!

Ummm, I think I can plead temporary insanity!!

As for your second comment - my sister said almost the SAME thing last night (I believe what she said was, you have to realize you are marrying something that is attached to a penis) with regard to the fact that last night during my pool match as I was leaning down to take the GAME WINNING shot - he decided it would be a good idea to yell my name and distract me, so I missed it!!

Thank you for listening to me vent earlier!! And yes, I know there are a LOT worse things that can happen, and yes, I know that the day of things will go wrong - but that is what planning is all about - reducing the number of things that will go wrong. I just do not need the groom adding to the stress, and then telling me to relax and that it doesn't matter. And if he says one more time that it is OK for the invites to go out the same week as the RSVP date I will scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On the day of, it won't matter - but TODAY it does, and it bugs the sh!t out of me that he has this I don't care attitude and does NOT in the least little bit recognize that when he pulls this stuff I am the one that has to deal with the fallout - not him.

PS.
All venting about FH is between YOU and ME (and the rest of the girls on the board )

i told fh that if he wanted to complete the invites himself then i will shut up..... NOW that got him off his butt to finish his list.

but i do think perhaps you need to smother him with a pillow just for a few seconds!! lol JOKING!!!!!

Re: ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Men are impossible, i was supposed to send the list to the calligrapher Friday but for certain reasons did not, good thing, on Saturday he tells me two more couples he needs to invite, mind you we are already at maximum, if they show up we may be in trouble, i want to wring his neck

lol, who's joking? i agree with the 'smothering him with a pillow' part!! yes, sweetie... there ARE worse things that COULD happen, but right now, it's this and i absolutely understand your pain!! my FH couldn't get any of his friends or coworkers addresses in 2 months to do the engagement announcements... then he had what, another 8-9 months to get them for the invites and just couldn't manage that either. his solution? we just won't invite them. lol, yeah okay!! just talk to these people who are some of your closest friends about the wedding for a year and then just don't invite them because you are too lazy to ask them for their addresses. you had 11 months!! COME ON!! he acts like he had to write down every address listed in the phone book. men!! can't live with 'em, can't smother 'em with a pillow!!

Darlene,

It is indeed bad form to kill a groom before the wedding.

A bride must only hit him until the marriage. Death must come only after marriage to collect inheritance.
