argh - Craft Shoes - rant!

I went in to take a peek because I know they have a decent selection. I realllllly want silver shoes (My dress is white with pewter beading), and I want a 'winter style' shoe (closed toe, back, etc.)

I was immediately accosted by 2 salespeople while standing at the bridal case...when I said my wedding was next year, they both walked away. When I wanted to see a shoe in the case, I asked one of the original 2 for help, and asked if a particular shoe was available in silver, or able to be dyed. She said, 'You have to be careful with silver - it makes for very tacky bridal shoes sometimes. If you're having a classy, elegant affair, you should definitely be wearing a white shoe. And besides, your wedding is a year away. I can only take the shoe out if there is intent to purchase'.

I was standing there like this for a few minutes before I snapped out of it , said, 'Well there IS intent to purchase - but now it CERTAINLY WON'T BE FROM HERE!' and hightailed it to the door.

Now I KNOW why I never ever ever shop there!

Oh.... My.... God....

I would call and speak to a manager... or OWNER! That is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!

And don't they know that the word 'tacky' is BANNED by us brides? lol.

I'm sorry you went through that! I think silver shoes are beautiful! I got a beautiful pair of Silver Shoes made by Nina from Nordstroms awhile back. Go there!

That's RIDICULOUS!!!! I'm mad right along with you!!!!

Good answer you gave them, by the way!!!

And what MORONS! A LOT of brides need to buy shoes a year in advance for hollow to hem measurements, so they're idiots!

trust me - you wouldnt want them to do your shoes anyway - they really screwed up with me and although it was fixed with no damage done, it really was not worth the stress from their lack of organization, communication, and carelessness.....

Wow, I am so sorry to hear that.

I got my shoes and pocketbook there and so did my MOH. We even dyed them there and had no problems. I know they aren't the quickest people around but we didn't have any problems. It was also quite conveniently located for me.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

I'm picturing you having a 'Pretty Woman'-type moment where you go back there tomorrow, loaded up with shopping bags, and saying, 'Hi, remember me? I was here yesterday and you wouldn't help me? Big mistake. Big. HUGE.'

I've always been dying to do that.

Re: argh - Craft Shoes - rant!

the good news is that I went down the road to MJM to buy FH sneakers for his birthday, and found my PERFECT SILVER SILK SHOES, closed toe, 2.5' heel, etc. PERFECT!!! They're Caparros.

AND they were $25 on clearance!

Everything happens for a reason, I guess!

WITH INTENT TO PURCHASE??????????
Um, yeah I would have turned around and just walked right out right then and there...........
The nerve of some people these days.

I had actually stopped at Sandys shoes today in Massapqeua just to look. The had tiaras there also so I asked if I can see one and the woman took it out for me.......It was plain and simple.....very pretty and dainty...AND $170!!!!!!!!!
I said to the woman that its too much did they have anything similar that is lower in price........
The woman looked at me and said no these are the lowest prices you'll find DEAR.
Dont dare call me dear..........and I wanted to bad to say Um, well the flea market would be cheaper than that but I just said thanks and I walked out.
