ARGHHH! Secrets changed our flight

Sorry just venting here...

We booked our trip to Secrets in Punta Cana for early March WAAAYY back last fall. Just today I got an email that our flights are somehow changed...now there is a 6 HOUR LAYOVER in JFK!! I can DRIVE from NY to DC (where we live) in less than 6 hours!! Originally, it was a 2 hour layover, which was bad enough, but doable, and we got back to DC around 8 pm. Now they have us flying in at midnight, after 6 hours in JFK. W T F?!!! I am SOOO ticked off.

Can you change your reservation to just stop at JFK and then rent a car to drive back to DC? It does seem ridiculous to stay at JFK for 6 hours. Otherwise...maybe you could meet up with some friends for dinner? My parents met up with some friends who had a stop over in JKF and they ate dinner at the airport...got caught up...then my parents went back home and their friends continued the trip. Sorry that you have to deal with this...
