Argyle Park in Babylon???

Is anyone planning on (or has anyone) taken pictures here on their wedding day? I wanted to know if I need to call the town to make a reservation of some sort to take pics there?

Also, does anyone have pictures of the park? FI is away at training and I wanted him to be able to see it somehow

Is that the one with the big duck pond with the white staircase??? My sister had her pics there, they came out beautifully. Sorry, no pics though.

Re: Argyle Park in Babylon???

I know that people suggest Argyle.. but I am from Babylon and think it is gross. I have seen brides taking there pictures there through out the years...I do not think you need to make a reservation with the town. But seeing as your getting married at CLM look at NYBRIDES pics. She got married there and took pics there that are AMAZING. I definately don't like Argyle it is not the best place. There is a park in Amittyville though....

Re: Argyle Park in Babylon???

funny u brought this back to life. Many people told me to go take pics there and i refuse. Many people have used that park and yes it can be nice but for the most party its a lot of traffic and lots of bird poop. Not recommended. NO permit needed from what i have heard.

I am praying that i can do arboretum in e. islip if the weather is nice.. i am cutting out getting pics of me being dressed because i am not a fan of being half naked infront of a group of people and then a camera man/woman. That park/estate is $50 charge. There is also bellmont lake which i want to look at. Don't know if there is money involved with that one.

We are too. Our RH is in Babylon, and our church is in Bay Shore, but there is a tree planted at the arboretum in my grandfather's memory, so I thought it would be fitting to get pics taken there, like he's with us.

Re: Argyle Park in Babylon???

I doubt you need a permit. I live in Babylon, and I run through the park nearly every day. There's a LOT of bird poop, and the park's looking a bit worn. If you're doing it in the spring, though, there are a lot of pretty flowering trees. I think the gazebos and bridges in Brightwaters might be better for photos. It was a long time ago, but that's where we did my confirmation pictures.

Re: Argyle Park in Babylon???

Sorry girls, this is a super old thread. I actually went to Argyle to take a look and we didnt like it. It was run-down looking and you could see the rust and paint chipping. Plus, there was goose poop everywhere.
We're still looking for somewhere else to take pics in that area.

Re: Argyle Park in Babylon???

It did say 'old thread' but I figured you bumped it. Take a look at the gazebo area in Brightwaters. It's down Montauk Highway, by Windsor Avenue, a bit west of Bay Shore Library. I live here but I can't think of a lot of other places for photos, sorry! I remember in the past you alway saw a lot of bridal parties in Argyle Park but you don't anymore. .
