Army ranks as table numbers?

Army ranks as table numbers?

i just had an idea...

Since we are doing somewhat of a Army wedding what do you think of naming the tables as different ranks from the Army?

and should i use the words or the symbols

maybe do the symbols on the place cards and then the actual table cards i could put the word with the symbol.

Army ranks.... we would use just enlisted unless he gets another promotion :o)

FH as well as a few GM and possibly a few guests will be in their dress blues

we are going to try to get the honor guard to do the arch of sabers as we finish the ceremony

That would be a cute idea!! You might also want to use the army slogan in various languages!

Good luck!

I think that the idea is a very cool one, but when talking about army ranks, captin is lower than major an so on and so fourth... Maybe you should pick your FH's rank and use it on all the tables because you might get some touchy ppl that might take the whole idea in an offensive manner. What I mean is that lets say you put your mom in the lowest rank table and you put a friend in the highest rank table, she might feel bad and think that you have some reason behind it when you really dont. Idk its just a thought i hope that I made sense with the whole example.

i was thinking parents and bridal party would get the higher ranks then as the tables go back rank goes lower and the kids table would be privates LOL

I think that is cute. I like when people do something different for the tables rather than just numbers.

If people that are in the ARMY will be at the wedding I say no.....If you want to do a rank the just do fh;s and that's it.......To be honest Joe would be mad if he went to a wedding w/ARMY ranks involved, but then again he was MR. policy police.

I think its cute, but I don't think you should do it.

People can get quite offended at even being far away from the 'head' tables, and really for little or no reason. So if you have a crowd that is saavvy to the rank system, someone may get offended.

Perhaps you can do a spin on places your FH has been to in the Army along with places you have been to? Like Bases that he's gone to for training or been stationed at. You could also do a spin off from his Branch.

But I'd steer clear of the ranks.

the only military people will be at the front tables they are either in the bridal party or are friends of his that are close...

i don't think it would go over well naming tables afganistan or iraq or even kosovo

What a cute idea. My cuz is in the coast guard academy so he has no $ and I told him his gift to me is to come in his formal uniform!
