article on taking baby out...

Just found it funny since I had posted on this last week. There is an article in Parenting this month about taking the baby out for the first time and how overwhelming it is and how excited you are when you have accomplished it.

Thought that might be food for thought for Snook and Bermuda out there!

I definitely should read this... I get stressed knowing that I have to take her to her doctor's appointments. I find myself wondering if I'm ever going to be able to drive again... I wish I didn't have all this time to just think...

oh gosh I know EXACTLY where you are at! You poor thing -it's all so scary and confusing and frustrating and then put exhaustion on top of that and it's a recipe for absolute depression and disaster!

I finally took her out a couple of weeks ago - search for my post, and since then we have been doing an outing a day and it's only getting easier.

Jenny, so true.

I think Im getting those 'heebee jeebee' feelings again as far as taking John Anthony out and being so close to my due date Even though I only stay local, no more than 5miles from my house, if its just the two of us.

and I'll probably feel it all over again with a newborn AND a toddler in tow... One being so independent compared to the other... and wanting to run off as soon as I take him out of the car

oh anna that is scary!!!

I can only offer you this: My sister has 4 kids. 11, 9, 7 and 4. She did it and still does it every day. In and out of that van...I dont' know how, but somehow she made it through all the infancy stages with all those kids in tow!!!!

I can't believe other people feel the same way I felt (and sometimes still feel)!!! I really thought I was a freak.

I have a lot of errands to run today, and the idea of taking Nicolas in and out of the car that many times, navigating that many winter (still snowy) parking lots, and hoping he remains in a good mood is still nerve wracking. I just may wait for Patrick to get home so I can have his help and support. He acts like this is his 10th child ~ nothing fazes him, everything is a piece of cake. I envy him!

I must say I overcame a big hurdle yesterday - we went to the mall to get something for Daddy for Valentines Day and I got myself somethign in Banana Republic. She was doing fine and then we were in the Gap dressing room and she BUGGED out - screaming like crazy, real tears the whole bit.

I totally kept my calm. I put the stuff down (the line was too long) and simply rolled her out and eventually she quieted down. But it was a good experience for me to realize that I can't control her or what she is going to do. And I cant stop my life because of it!

SO true! But isn't it hard to learn that?? I'm still reminding myself of it daily.
