the HYATT!!! we loooooved it. great massage, awesome beach (they comb it every morning) lots of things to do, and the hyatt has about 4 restaurants right in the hotel. it really is like a little town unto itself. the other hotels don't have the same night feel to it...meaning that at the hyatt, we felt more like we were in another country rather than at a hotel on a strip of land. we also rented a car (itty bitty car) and drove to the other side of the island and explored it and it was amazing. town was fun, but the best best best thing we did was take a boat ride to de palm island where we spent the day snorkeling...oh my...our guy took us out about a quarter mile out to sea and it was where the sea shelf drops and it was incredible! but regarding inclusive...yeah, you may save some money and at the hyatt you can't go wrong with their food, but we felt that our honeymoon was not the time to try to save money. splurge a bit and enjoy your one honeymoon...you won't regret it!

eta: dh during out excursion snorkeling!

the view of one of the restaurants from our room

dinner on the beach. this was AMAZING!!! highlight of our honeymoon and the best way to end a trip. 2 hours, eating alone while the sun set with our own private waiter. this rocked!

OMG!!!!! u got me so excited!!! especially about the private dinner on the beach!!!! Is that something htey promote at the Hyatt or will I have to go speak with someone about it?

FH and I looove the beach and love to eat at different restaurants..We enjoy social drinks,,not looking to get bombed every night...so that is why we didnt want to do the all-inclusive. I rather go eat at different restaurants and drink the drinks I want and not feel limited....

Thanks!!!

Re: Aruba

Oct04Bride, we must have been there at the same time. That is what the beach by the Hyatt looked like when we were walking over there. We went for a sunset sail and it was cancelled (twice!) because the water was too rough after the rain. It was overcast much of the time we were there, but we still loved it. Our cab drivers all told it is was very unusual and the weather had been weird since the hurricanes.

As far as being out of the hurricane belt...one morning when we were eating breakfast at our hotel, one of the guest was talking to the manager about the weather and he said, well it might be raining here, but when it rains here, other locations in the Carribean are having major storms. It made us glad we were there instead of another island

FI and I stayed at the Divi Mega all inclusive in 2002. We LOVED it and plan to go back! whether to go all inclusive depends on your preferences. We like to wake up and get a pina colada at 11am or try something new on whim. We also don't feel like traveling around to go out to dinner so we much prefer the all inclusive. We thought the Divi's restaurants were very very good (and we go out to eat A LOT around here!)

We were in Aruba in August and stayed at the Radisson. We loved it there. If we went back we would def stay there. There is nbo rainy season in Aruba. Its always sunny. Feel free to ask me any questions.

We stayed at the Radisson and enjoyed our stay -- we had some problems with our honeymoon package, but it was all resolved in the end.

We don't recommend going all inclusive because Aruba is all about restaurants.

There is a rainy season though -- it's between October and December, November being the worst. It's not bad compared to other islands, but when we were there in November we only had about 7 sunny days out of 13.
