Ok I have narrowed the search for the honeymoon down to Aruba or St. Lucia.. If we do St. Lucia it will probably be a Sandals not 100% sure yet.
But has anyone been to Aruba, hotels etc. any info would be great.

Re: Aruba??
We went and stayed at the HYATT. The room we stayed in was small and had a small balcony (you could only stand on it, not sit), but the grounds are AMAZING. The weather was also PERFECT.

Re: Aruba??
I went to Aruba several yrs ago w/my sis when I was single. It is very nice, but it was SO windy everyday!! (we went in May) like 50 mph winds all day. And since it is a desert island, there was a lot of sand in the eye issues.
It's a 'rich' island. No crime at all and very safe. The restaurants we went to were mostly upscale and EXCELLENT!
The nightlife for singles wasn't as great as other islands like Jamaica. But for couples I would say it would be perfect!

Re: Aruba??
Sorry forgot to mention, Aruba is outside the hurricane belt and for the most part it is 80 degrees and sunny. It was beautiful the entire week we were there (rained one night)

Aruba is beautiful, and the weather is always great, sometimes a little....'breezy'
I always said that when I went to Aruba and stayed there (not with a cruise) I would stay at the Hyatt, because the grounds were so beautiful. However, I have heard from a few people that the rooms need a well deserved makeover.
We are seriously considering the Bucuti Beach Resort. It's a low rise hotel, no kids, very quiet, and reportedly has the most beautiful beach, however you can't get a bad beach in Aruba, but the Bucuti doesn't allow people who are not hotel guests on their beach.
If we don't do Bucuti, we may stay at the Radisson, I have heard great things about it.
Aruba's night life is great, plenty to do. If you go, eat at El Gaucho's, it's great!

Re: Aruba??
We had booked Sandals St. Lucia.....but then decided to save money, so we looked into Aruba. We are doing an all-inclusive in Aruba for more than 50% less than St. Lucia.
FM me if you need any details! Good Luck.

The Bucuti definitely has the best beach. We stayed there for our honeymoon and are thinking of going back for our 1st anniversary. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic place, with a beautiful beach, it is perfect. The other hotels are nice, but we got a suite with a full balcony (with 2 chairs and a table on it - lots of room to sit and look out at the water) for the price that the Hyatt and the Radisson wanted for a regular room. In my opinion, the only down side to the Bucuti is that there is not a lot of water sports and restaurants that you can walk to, but we just took cabs to wherever we wanted to go. They allow children, but have no activities for children, so you don't see too many there (I think we saw one the whole week....) there were a lot of Europeans and honeymooners.

Do you feel like you missed out because it wasn't a high rise hotel? Does it have less of a view? This is really my only main concern. That and the pool, FI really likes pools.....he's afraid of touching 'creepy' stuff in the ocean, what a baby!

Re: Aruba??
We went to Aruba for our HM and stayed at the Radisson. It was the first time EVER that it got hit by the hurricane's, but even with all the rain we had an amazing time. There was plenty to do...we enjoyed it so much we are planning on going back to catch the good weather - since the rain we experienced was totally out of the ordinary!
