FH and I are considering going to Aruba for our honeymoon. Has anyone been there? I talked to a travel agent who is a vendor on here and she suggested two places that interested me and might be in our budget:
Occidental Grande Divi Aruba
Divi Aruba is less expensive but Occidental Grande looks amazing. Does anyone have any information or opinions on these places? Thanks!

We went to the Occidental Grande last January (2007) and loved it. It was on the 'high rise' strip which we really liked because you can walk along the beach and hang out at different hotels as well and not worry about taking a cab anywhere. We thought the food was great for an all inclusive. Aruba itself is a wonderful place - lots to do, very safe and you can also just chill out at the pool or on the beach. It's always windy there so even when it's hot, we felt comfortable. Not sure if this is your taste but there even is a Hooters across from the hotel entrance (sorry, we were missing wings and beer one day!) FM me if you have any specific questions. I went to Aruba in December for my birthday - I absolutely loved it there. We had a great time. We didn't stay at either of those resorts - we stayed at the Riu Palace and I loved it. It's all inclusive too!

we went to aruba for our honeymoon and LOVED it!!! everything about aruba is great--the food, the weather, the people!
we didn't stay at either of those hotels, we chose to stay in the 'low rise' section b/c we were looking for something more secluded and quiet. we stayed at an amazing little hotel, if you are interested, feel free to FM.

The Divi is out of the way; secluded, very nice. The Occidental is on the 'main strip' and is amazing also. Just more lively/active/crowded. Hope that helps! You will have a great time, Aruba is beautiful.

Im booked at the Occidental Grand Aruba Resort for my honeymoon. All inclusive in Feb 7 nights $5400 not incl. airfare. LOVE IT & CANT WAIT TO GO!

We stayed a few years ago at the Westin and it was great. Also all-inclusive. High-rise with a great casino, night life, bar, and lots of restaurants to choose from.

I have been checking everyday for Aruba to go on our honeymoon. i really want to stay @ the Riu Palace b/c I love the Riu in Punta Cana. Anyway I checked Expedia and w/air fare and all it's averaging 5K for 7nights and my honeymoon would be in April.

I absolutely loved Aruba & would go back. It's gorgeous!! I didnt stay at either of those places so i cant give you any input on that, but i would deff. go to Aruba if I were you. You will love it!

LOVVVVE Aruba! I myself prefer the high rise section, not the low rise. if that does not work, then try pricing the Marriott Renaissance! It's not on the beach, but has it's own private island which is amazing!!!!!
