Aruba, Cabo, or Cancun???

The original plan for the HM was 3 days in Disney and a week in Aruba. But if you saw some of my previous posts, FH has gotten himself all worried that the US will boycott Aruba making it difficut to get a flight (I tend to think things will be fine).

So an a back up scenerio, where would/have you gone?? Please keep in my that my wedding is in October and I need to be AWAY from the hurriances...

We're going to the Cancun area, and Curacao (which is next to Aruba) is our back up plan. I've heard quite a few people say that Curacao is much better than Aruba.

I talked to a travel agent today who recommended Curacao to me and he said great things about it. He also HIGHLY recommended Cancun to me...which I always think of as being a big Spring Break area but he said when its not spring break, its a big HM place

There are plenty of places close to Cancun. We're staying at Secrets Excellence, which is 20 minutes south of Cancun. Royal Hideaway is about 40 minutes south.

If you decide to stay in Cancun, and don't want to be in the teeny bopper atmosphere, then just stay off the hotels in the hotel zone. Dreams Cancun comes to mind because it's at the very corner of Cancun proper. I've also heard good things about the Riu, the Fiesta Americana and Aventura Spa Palace.

Aren't the beaches are Curacao rocky? I've heard that from a few ppl and read some reviews on tripadvisors. I was looking into it, i'm nervous to pick it b/c I heard ppl say the beaches are very rocky?!

I am not a fan of Cancun or Cozumel. My parents have been to Cabo many times, and they say its beautiful. It is very built up (a little city), and has beautiful beaches.
I wouldn't totally rule Aruba out. Everyone I know who has been there loved it. We almost booked Aruba for our HM. We cancelled the idea only because we really wanted to go to Hawaii. The people of Aruba are suppose to be wonderful and the island beautiful.
What happened there is a tragedy but, the same thing happens everywhere we just don't hear about it everyday. I highly doubt the USA will boycott Aruba. If you are really worried I would go with Cabo.

I went to Cabo and got engaged there and went to Aruba for my HM. I liked Aruba so much better!!!
No vendors bothering you, no money exchange, the water is nicer in Aruba too, and I think there's more to do. I also think the restaurants are better in Aruba too....

Can you tell I like Aruba?!?!?!?!?

Cabo was great too, just not as great as it's cracked up to be. Also, I think Aruba is a little more $$$$$

I totally agree. I was in Aruba last year and what happened w/ that young girl is sad but it happens everywhere. You cannot go wrong in Aruba the weather is amazing, the people are great it's just such a beautiful place!

I heard that also, which was a concern for me. I think it's rocky where most of the hotels are, on the southern end. I was told the other part of the island which only has 1 or 2 small hotels has better beaches.

I would say Aruba b/c that's where we're going We are staying at the Bucuti I'm so excited I can't wait! FH and I have never been there but a lot of people we asked for recommendations said that was there favorite in the Carribbean.
Wouldn't Cabo or Cancun be in the hurricane zone? My geography is terrible so don't make fun of me if I'm wrong!
