I love both aruba and st. thomas... i would definitely choose either of those over DR. I would go to a travel agent and get some ideas they can give u suggestions based on the type of resort you are looking for and what your budget is

we are staying at:
RIU in ARuba - all inclusive in a jr suite with a balcony for LESS money that mexico!! always a happy problem b/c we were tight on money for hte HM and that was a blessing in disguise that now we can do a lot more stuff there!

we are leaning more toward Aruba...she says we can book RUI, Occidental, Hyatt, or Marriot but i dont know what i would be gaining by staying at one over the other yet...

I would def. say Aruba, probably because we are going there. But we have heard nothing but great things about Aruba!!!!!!!

We went on a cruise and St. Thomas was one of our ports and it was our absolutely favorite. BUT I do hear you can't go wrong with Aruba. Play pick a hand (or pull a name out of a hat, etc.) and you HAVE to go with the choice that comes up. If the choice that comes up disappoints you, then you know which one you really want and then you can change your mind. That's how I make all major life decisions.

Aruba and DR are my two favorite Islands. Never been to St. Thomas but I have to say DR is much more beautiful than Aruba, depending on where you stay. We love the Paradisus Punta Cana. The beach is gorgeous and nightlife great.

In Aruba you can stay at an all inclusive, I don't think they have all inclusives in St. Thomas so I think you might get more for your money in Aruba.

The Marriot is actually running a special in St Thomas for all inclusive, thats y she suggested it
i think i may be set on Aruba just waiting for more info
