Re: Aruba Honeymoon

I've been to Aruba twice- Stayed at the Divi once and the Mariott another time

The Divi Pheonix was really nice and was a little further away from the high-rise hotels like the occidental, mariott and riu- I found that the high-rise hotel area was the best, but was also the most crowded. I went with my family the time we went to the Mariott, and it was alot of fun because you can just 'pool crash' at all of the hotels, get really cheap happy hour drinks at the beachside bars, etc... but it was a VERY family-oriented area. Also, you have to wake up REALLY early in the morning if you want to get a chair at the beach. All of the hotels rent out cabanas, but you need to wake up early in the morning to reserve one, or else you're stuck without a chair. If you are ok with being around large crowds then go to the high-rise.

If not, I would highly recommend the Divi Pheonix (the newest of the Divi resorts) or the Divi Tamarijn, which are all beach-side bungalow type rooms with your own private lounge chairs on your porch outside of your room. Both of those divi resorts are all-inclusive, offer free shuttles to the high-rise hotel areas so you can still experience it if you want, and still give you the relaxation and privacy you might want on your honeymoon

Re: Aruba Honeymoon

We heard from family and friends that the restaurants in town in Aruba are excellent and not too expensive. We decided not to do all inclusive because we really want to be able to get out of the hotel and try all of the restaurants. We found the best deal on Aruba4u.com. We are staying at the Hyatt (gorgeous) got free breakfast etc. We actually were able to get the same deal through aruba4u but had a travel agent book it for us. So we got the best of both worlds. If you want info on my travel agent let me know she is amazing!!

agree 100%!!!!! There was this AMAZING brazilian (or Argentinean? whatever) steakhouse in the town that was to die for. It was one of those places where you have the card that you flip over when you're done but if it's not flipped, they just keep coming around with more food!! Senor Frogs is also alot of fun in the town area... Like many places in the Caribbean, you just have to be really careful in the town at night

I stayed at the Divi All Inclusive in April! It was nice, I had an ocean view but definitely a quiet resort. If I went back I would probably stay near the high rises just to have more to do but depends what your looking for

We ended up booking our honeymoon at Bucuti & Tara Resorts in Aruba. It is not all-inclusive. We originally wanted all-inclusive but ended up not doing it for 2 reasons - 1.we are foodies and are looking forward to visiting all of the restaurants in Aruba, and don't want to feel we need to eat at the hotel to get our money's worth. and 2.we felt that all of the all inclusive hotels were too busy/clubbish/crowded for our personal taste. Only for our honeymoon though. we specifically wanted something more romantic. All of the all-inclusive hotels seemed great to us for any other type of vacation though. It comes down to personal preference. Read a lot of reviews on trip advisor, that really helped us.
