Aruba- marriott or radisson?

with the help of trip advisor, i have narrowed down the choice of HM hotels to two-

the marriot with the stellaris casino
or the radisson.

i see that quite a few have been to aruba, has anyone stayed at these hotels? i am having a hard time making a decision on the hotel. which one is closer to more things to do?

TIA!

We have stayed at the Raddisson, and loved it but if we went again (which we intend to) we would not stay there. The Mariott has a better casino, better (and more) selections of restaurants, especially for lunch, and they are all pretty close to everything, since they are on a strip one after the other.

The Raddison was very laid back, and we like a more dressed up atmosphere if we are vacationing and going out for dinner. I would say that you will win with both. They are both great, both overly accomodating and as long as you have PLENTY of sunscreen you should LOVE whichever one you stay at.

Again, we are city folk and we would prefer to have a less campy feeling when we are away on vacation. Again both are stunning, but in different ways, also make sure you wander and eat at other hotels at some point, because they are all so amazing. Also find out if you can eat dinner on the beach. We did at the Raddisson, and it was really beautiful!

We are going to Aruba for our, gulp, 1 year anniversary in a couple of weeks... We did a lot of research and also asked around-- we know a lot of people who are repeat visitors to Aruba.

We are staying at the Radisson and have only heard great things.. If you can wait til April 22nd when we get back-- I can let you know how it is!

Re: Aruba- marriott or radisson?

I stayed at the Radisson (just last August) - I really enjoyed it, but if I had to go back, I would stay at the Hyatt. As between the Radisson and the Marriott (which we went to check out), the Radisson has a better location - closer to restaurants, and it has a nicer beach (I think they comb it more often), with more palapas. The Marriott's further up, so it's quieter, but also more out of the way for the local entertainment. And it does have bigger balconies, but the Marriott's restaurant on the beach made us both very very ill, so I'd skip that if you stay there. There's a different restaurant that does the on the beach dinner thing that's much better (and which didn't make me sick), but I can't recall the name at the moment. If you want more info, you should do a search for my review - I think I posted it on the Honeymoon board - just search for my user name and Aruba - I'm sure it'll come up. Good luck with your decision - I really don't think you can go wrong, just depends on what you want. HTH.
