As a guest do you prefer indoor/outdoor ceremony?

As a guest do you prefer indoor/outdoor ceremony?

Assuming an 11:30am ceremony in August, where the outdoor is prettier but hotter.

I guess it would depend on how hot it is that day. 80s and sunny would be wonderful; 90's and humid would be awful.

i'm undecided b/c an outdoor ceremony would be gorgeous, nice scenery and would make for some lovely pics. and at 11:30, might not be too hot yet

however if its one of those days when its like 100 at 8am and humid and muggy..then i'd be b*tching the whole time and would be miserable lol

it depends on how hot it is - i like outdoors though but it could be pretty brutal at 11:30am

I have attended 3 outdoor ceremonies. One was in June and it was 90 degrees, one was in August and it was 90 degrees and the other was in September and it was cloudy, windy and chilly! Talk about extremes!

it all depends...Ive been to outdoor ceremonies but i have to say not really hott either time and both were in the summer so they got lucky. I do very bad in the heat, its my stupid low blood pressure so i get faint and sick so yeah then id be uncomfortable but otherwise if its not too bad i like it

I'm not a fan of the 'elements' in general so I always prefer an indoor ceremony. Unless it's a nice, fall evening. August it usually get's pretty hot early. Even if it's already 80 degrees, and they're in the sun.....they're going to be sweating.

Exactly what I was thinking.
Is there a way you can figure it out that day?

i think august at 11:30 am wouldn't be super hot. you could make the ceremony programs fans!

do what YOU want---to me the ceremony is THE most important part of the day---everything else is just a party because of it. make sure you are happy with it!

Normally I'd say outdoor, but at that time of year, I'd be melting sitting outside... and you never know what could happen that day... if you're running late that means your guests are sitting out in the heat and sun longer.

HOWEVER... our good friends got married outside this past August (it wasn't particularly hot that day and it was an evening ceremony) and while the guests were waiting for the ceremony to begin they had a table set up with iced tea and lemonade for the guests to drink and cool down with.

I agree that the ceremony is the most impt part which is why this is stressing me out so much. My parents are adament that we have the ceremony indoors because they have been miserable at outdoor ceremonies. They also said we will be squinty in pictures and everyone will be sweaty.

I'm not in love with my hall's indoor ceremony room though....

I was hoping that if this poll came back with an overwhelming result for indoor, it would make me feel better about going with the indoor ceremony..... and if it came back with outdoor, then maybe it's not as bad as my parents think.

I'm hopefully going to stop back at my hall this week to see the indoor room again, and think of what I can do to make it better. If the weather report looks like our day will be nice weather I might want to do a last minute switch.

I think I would prefer an indoor ceremony. I've been to a wedding in the summer where the cocktail hour (not ceremony) was all outdoors, without any coverage, not a tree or anything to hide under. Everyone was sweating and complaining about how hot it was. The mens shirts were all wet and the womens makeup was running because everyone was sweating. If you can have people shaded somehow, that would be great, otherwise I'd try for an indoor ceremony.

Our cocktail hour is indoor/outdoor. The stations are all indoors with a lot of seating indoors but there is a second bar outside and seating outside as well.
