As if this morning wasn't enough

FH just called me and told me that his company is merging, and it could affect his job. We may have to move, which wouldn't be so bad. But what I'm really afraid of is him losing his job altogether. That's what happened when my dad's company merged.

I'm so scared right now.

Princess, I knew about the merger from FI too. My FI's job is being moved to Canada so as of April he will not have a job but this was decided on before the merger.

I remember that feeling-we came back from our honeymoon to find out that DH's company got bought out. That was 2 1/2 years ago and he still has a job but a lot of things changed. Try not to panic. It wouldn't hurt him to clean up his resume and maybe get it out there, especially if you depend on him a lot for his income. If being jobless would not be a terrible hardship, well, all the more reason not to panic.

It's just compounding, I guess. I'm hoping that nothing has to change, but if we have to move, I'll deal. I'm just terrified of him losing his job - we do depend on his income a lot.

But it'll be okay. I just totally freaked out because when I was 8 my Dad lost his job in a company merger and was unemployed for the better part of the next 3 years. I'm hoping that things aren't that bleak.
