As the Wedding Approaches: a typical conversation with my mother

As the Wedding Approaches: a typical conversation with my mother

Me: 'Mom, I have my hair trial this afternoon, can you tell me where my headpiece is?'
Mom: Looking puzzled and annoyed - 'What headpiece?'
Me: 'The one for my wedding. I'm getting married very soon. You chose and bought a headpiece for me.'
Mom: 'What makes you think that I know where it is? I don't know what you're talking about.'
Me: 'Because I watched you wrap it in tissue paper before you told me that you were putting it in a safe place.'
Mom: exasperated, 'It's in a little blue bag in my giant walk in closet hanging in the back on the left side in front of my dresses, why don't you know that?'
Me: 'Because a few sentences ago you doubted the very existence of my headpiece.'

I was. I still am. The worst part is that this is every wedding related conversation at this point! Just 40 something days to go until I get my normal mom back!

Sometimes they need a little 'memory trigger'. My mom slips too but shes 73 so she has an excuse I guess.

This is why I don't leave things with my mom without also knowing where it's getting stored!! I could just imagine if something was misplaced, that would be a big no-no, esp so close to the wedding.

Good luck to you and your mom on making it!!
