Ashes for Ash wednesday

ok so i got my ashes at 930 this morning, and im proud to say

THEY ARE STILL ON MY HEAD!!!

even tho i forgot and scratched my forehead a few minutes ago, i was like 'F**K!!!!!' but they're still there!!

Your so good.. i normallly go downstairs to the church to get them but i forgot today!!!

i could always go tonight but... eh lol. But i ate no meat so thats good lol

that is good!!!

i had pizza for lunch, and my mom made seafood sauce for dinner, and Dad and FH just picked up crab cakes and baked clams for appetizers!!!

you two are so good! I brought a turkey sandwich for lunch, then came on LIW and was reminded not to eat meat for Ash Wednesday.

Lunch time came around and I went down to the cafeteria looking for some veggie options, saw none, and came back and ate my turkey sandwich anyway! I am a bad girl

YAY we can remind each other!!!

for lent im giving up 20 minutes of my time every day to do some 'clearing of the mind' and focusing on what the church teaches us to do/how to be as catholics...

thats what our priest suggested at mass this morning

its gonna be SO HARD

I didn't go for ashes, but I haven't eaten any meat today. So I'm at about 50%.

OK funniest story of my day...

so im eating my NON meat dinner, the baked clams, and as im eating, i say 'wow these are really good clams, theres something different about them'

and as im eating, i realize (nonchalantly at first) 'oh wow theres bacon in these clams! how interesting?!'

::5...4...3...2...1...:: 'OMG THERES BACON IN THESE CLAMSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!'

i almost had a heart attack, so i just picked out all the bacon in the next clam
