Asian Brides and/or Weddings

Hello ladies...my FH is Chinese and really wants to have a Lion Dance at the wedding (similar to what they do down in Chinatown for the New Year). His uncle is in an association that does this, however, they are located in Chinatown and to get them to come to LI is going to cost us and we don't want to pay too much.

Does anyone happen to know of anyone on the island who does this and possibly how much?

I'm not sure about exact numbers for the cost, but there are places in Queens and Nassau County that offer it. Try 'kung fu' schools.

My friend had a lion dance at her wedding, but she used a college-troupe. They were really amazing, though. If you're willing to reach out to colleges in the Manhattan area, they might be able to perform for non-collegiate events. You can also try contacting the Chinese Center on Long Island to see where they get their lion dancers from.
