There are plenty of hairdressers advertised on this site. Why do they need to specialize in asians though?? Wouldn't a good hairdresser be able to do the hair of anyone? Good luck!

Welcome!! I am not Asian but FH is. I think you are asking the question because your hair is really straight right?? There are many hairstylists and if the issue is the straightness and the style options you may want to post a query regarding other brides to be with straight hair.
Are you having an Asian wedding?? I'd love to hear your ideas...

yay, i got replies! :) thank you all.
you guys are right. i don't think hair will be such a big deal. but i want to avoid being made up like connie chung on my wedding day. i want to look natural with minimal makeup. the only item of makeup that i use is lipstick, and even that is a neutral color by clinique. i've had makeovers before, always come out looking really ugly.
i tried calling jaqualine n yesterday, she was already booked for my date. she recommended a couple others but i think they're over my estimated budget. i was planning to spend $150-200 on myself, $75 for BM for both hair/makeup.
i had a trial with bouchelle in nj yesterday. she came highly recommended by the weddingchannel message board. i thought it turned out okay for the most part, but i still didn't look entirely like myself.
balilove: we're having an american reception, but i am changing into a chinese gown. also our centerpieces and party favor will have an asian theme.

Sorry, can't help you out. I'm not very familiar with Flushing. I'm also working on trying to find a makeup artist and hair stylist in Manhattan.

hi there. my fiance's sister-in-law got her hair+makeup done at the aveda salon in soho. she thought the makeup was very natural. you might want to try there. i don't have that option because my wedding's on long island. 3 years ago, bridal hair+makeup was $300, for bm $100. good luck.
