Asian Brides.. Please come in.. question.

I couldn't find our other thread fast enough to suit me.. heh

Well Jim (bless him) has just messed with my planning.... again.

We had started with thinking of going to Chinatown to get invites that would be in English & Chinese. The more planning we did the more we realized that the invites we picked out weren't 'red' or 'gold' enough. It was more like putting construction paper red next to a fire engine.

So we went with having just English Invites. Really pretty red invite with Gold lettering allowing for 10lines of English Text. Jim KNEW this and agreed. Great price $1.50 each.

This past weekend his grandmother (i live with him, his grandmother, brother and sometimes his mother) asked Jim's Mother to find out if our invites were in English only. I don't know what possessed him but he said 'no, they will be in both English & Chinese'.

Well the little old Granny got so happy. Immediately sat down and started a list of all the people she can now invite. It was so cute. I didnt have the heart (or language) to argue it. Later in our room I looked at Jim and said 'Sweetie? We weren't going to have duel language invites remember?' It then dawned on him that he just messed up.

Well I can't take this from the little old lady, she looked so very happy. So now Im BACK in the market for Chinese/English invites.

Anyone else doing this?

I am doing both chinese/english invitations in Chinatown. They are cheaper.

You don't have to use their printing sheets. You can bring your own type of paper or even your own designs. They'll just probably charge you a little more depending on many you are ordering.

What I am doing is having an english invite and putting a thai insert inside the invite. It gave us more options that way. That might be a possibility for you.

There aren't enough known resources for Asian Brides.....I'm searching for a Bilingual officiant that could speak Korean and English, I have no idea how I'm going to search for that. I guess in Flushing.

Our friend is going to ask a family friend who is bilingual. I'll let you know. She is getting back to us in a few days.

Best Wishes,

Thomas
