Asian Fusion Restaurant?

Asian Fusion Restaurant?

Hello my fellow NYC'ers

Anyone has a recommendation for a good Asian Fusion restaurant?

Primarily want Asian with some sort of Non Eastern cuisine. IE, Italian, French, American, Continental, etc.

I've been continually keeping my mind for rehearsal dinner locations.
Unfortunately the FFIL is very UNadventurous when it comes to food so my desire of a trendier Chinese restaurant or Korean BBQ (because the wedding reception food will inherently still be more Americanized) will not fly. :(

Prefer a location in Queens (Long Island City, Bayside, Flushing) vicinity. Or Long Island much closer on the Queens side.

Thanks!

There is Dao in Huntington Village (probably too far for you...). I'm having my E-party there.

Or there is Tofu in Roslyn Heights (on Willis Avenue - about 4 miles from the Nassau/Queens border). Or you could always go to PF Changs in the Source Mall (Westbury, I think?).

Hope this helps!

If you were willing to head into manhattan there's a Japanese/Italian fusion restaurant called Basta Pasta that's really good. It's in Chelsea.

Thanks Ladies!

So far it sounds like Dao is a contendor. It actually has a regular steak on the menu! Which is what FFIL would order/want. It's about 30 minutes from our venue and the hotel everyone will be staying at. It's OK location wise because at least we don't have to drive an hour into Manhattan. I just don't really want to deal with rush hour traffic on a Friday night so prefer to stay relatively close to Queens/LI area.

Basta Pasta sounds really good but just too far of a drive for something like this.

Please keep the suggestions coming! Thanks!

Another option is Shiro in Atlas park mall. It is an Hibachi restaurant. The food is delicious.

The problem with Wild Ginger -altho it looks delish!- is that there's nothing on there the FFIL would order.
He needs like something Italian or steak. Nothing with Asian spices/sauces added to it as well. He's a difficult man, what can I say! But we love him.

Erawan looks great ! It's got Chinese & Japanese options and just some good 'ol steak as well. Location is good for us and the atmosphere looks really nice as well.
I can't tell from the set up but is there a way they would be able to portion off a space for us? I know they have a private party room but it's for 50 or more.
At this point I'm thinking it'll just be immediate family and bridal party. So we're at about 25. Thanks!

Erawan is GREAT! Just be careful..there are 2 in Bayside. One is ON bell blvd and the other is right off of Bell (around the corner from Love My Shoes)This is the one I prefer (and the bigger one). I know they have an upstairs room that they do not always use-maybe they can seat you up there?
