asking bridal party

Ohhh...i JUST did this last week to ask mine
I got these cookes made up at cookies by design in e northport...they were bridesmaid dress cookies and had them write on it 'will you be my bridesmaid'. I put them all in little gift bags and attached personalized cards asking them to be in my bridal party and during the day I dropped them off at their houses while they were at work so it would be a suprise.
They all loved it
My friend asked me by sending me a picture frame with a picture of us in it and enclosed a note asking me....on the receiving end I thought it was very sweet

For one bridesmaid, I had inserted scrapbook paper and printed her name and the poem below into a BRIDES magazine. Then, I asked her if she wanted to looked through the magazine for wedding gowns with me. When she turned to the page, her mouth dropped. She started crying. :)

Nothing would gives us
more joy and more pride

Will you be in our wedding party?

At my engagement party, I asked my FSIL (who was getting married a few weeks later). My brother (her DH) is going to be in the party as well. So, we framed a similar poem to the above one and told them that we had a present for them b/c we figured they were under a lot of stress with the wedding lately. It was a poem in a picture frame. They were very surprised and touched. :)

Then, I asked my FH's sister. She was 8 months pregnant at the time, so I got her a cheap photo album (8 pages for photos- 1.50 in Michaels). I wrote a poem specifically for her and put a line on each page. She was so touched and couldn't believe how sneaky I was about how I asked her, hehe. :)

In just a few short months your new baby boy will change your whole life.
And in one quick year, your brother will say 'I do!' to his brand new wife.
Your new baby boy will require much love and good care…
Most times, you will realize you don’t have a moment to spare!
But even though this new baby will leave you with no time for play…
We really do hope that you can stand by us on our wedding day.
Gabriella, will you be in our wedding party?

Lastly, I asked my two cousins (sisters) together. I did the same thing as I did for the first bridesmad, but asked them if they wanted to see a picture of my dress. So they were all excited! I turned to the page before and said, 'What do you think of this dress?' So they were like, 'Oh, it's so pretty!' Then, I turned to the next page (One poem on each side) and said...'Or how about this one?' They started yelling, 'Of course, of course!!!'

Definitely personalize it. These women are going to be in your wedding party, so they are obviously the most important women in your life. Show them just how special they are to you.

awww.... those are some REALLY cute ideas! I just kind of asked my girls. lol. They already knew, cause we're super close and it was just understood. But I asked each of them anyhow. Wish i woulda come up with something special now that I think back. I guess i'll have to make my future baby announcement (like 'You're gonna be an Aunt!!') EXTRA special. haha. But that's not till the WAY future!!!!!!!!!!

I had cookies made that look BM dresses in the actual color alon with cute boxes make and on top is a note card that says 'will you be my bridemaids?' They are adorable!!! I got them from casuesweets.com

I gave out personalized ornaments.... for the guys we just gave them an ornament with their name on it and for the girls i gave them an ornament that would have my name and their name and bridesmaid on it.... more pictures in my album

i did that too when i asked mine!!!!!!!!! they loved it!

i had my girls over for dinner and at their place setting there was a card 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' and they each opened theirs. then we had wine and ate and chatted about dresses.
it was perfect!

For the BMs, i gave them each a card and wrote how much they ment to me, and how my day would not be complete if they weren't in it.

I did the same for my MOHs ( I have 3 ) but I gave them each a bouquet of roses when I did it.

It was nice, they all loved it.
