Asking Bridesmaids...

I would like to send a letter through the snail mail and have it be semi-formal invitation to be a bridesmaid. Anyone ever see any poems/sayings to include??? Thanks in advance!?! Nancy

Asking Bridesmaids (Kind of Long)...

My friend did a BEAUTIFUL thing to ask me and the others... At her engagement party, she gave us beautiful boxes (looked like mini hat boxes) which had tags attached with our names on them (she is an amazing graphic designer). Inside the folding tag it said 'Something old, something new, something borrowed...' and we opened up the box and there was a blue flower with another tag attached which said 'And then there's you!'. You open up the tag and it said 'Will you be our bridesmaid?'. It was wonderful. She also put a picture of her and me in a picture frame. Maybe you could do something like that. It really was the nicest way anyone has ever asked me!! (And I've been in too many parties to count - always a bridesmaid, FINALLY A BRIDE!!!).

I just read your post, Marnles, and I'm crying! That's such a beautiful way to ask your bridesmaids! Tell your friend I said so :-) I asked mine with a simple card that I presented to them in person that just began with why they are so special to me and closed with why it is so important to me that they stand for me at my wedding. They were all very touched. Nothing super creative, but they all loved it.
