Asking Bridesmaids without cute poems or cookies...
My friends and I love each other, but we are not very emotional or affectionate. I love the idea of asking your friends to be your bridesmaids with cookies and card. But I also know that they will tease me mercilessly if I do, that's just the way we are. :) Does anyone know where I can get bridesmaid cards that are more on the silly/ wise a$$ side? I guess I am trying to say that I need something a little edgier.

I asked my bridesmaids to be bridesmaids by showing them some potential bridesmaid dresses then asking them if they would wear them and yadda yadda.
Then for my MOH I sent her a hoodie that said on the back
'One Badass Maid of Honor' (she's away at school) with a note that said 'You in?'

Thanks! Im thinking I might google ugly 80s bridesmaid dresses and put them on the cover of a card made on Snapfish...

It's just fun, make it what you want. I also know people who actually like proposed to their bridesmaids in like cheesy mock weding tones. She got down on one knee with a best friend ring and said 'will you deal with my constant ***** fits then not call me for a month after my wedding but come over when I get my pictures and forgive the dress I made you buy and wear?'

I met with them individually and got them each a small gift (less than $10). So I wrote them a card and gave them a gift. In the card I asked them to be in my wedding party and wrote 1-2 sentences about our friendship. My Maid of Honor was a little bit different and more special.

For my MOH - I made a small pic album of her baby girl (my flowergirl) and the last pic was the flowergirl holding a sign that said 'will you be my MOH.' She was only a few weeks-month old though so it was cute.

I googled pics of bridesmaids from the 1900s-1970's. And i printed them out and made my own cards with personalized notes for each girl!
They loved them! and so did i!!

I did personalized bottles of wine - got the labels from an Etsy seller for like $20 for 8 labels. Bought the wine from a winery out east - took the original labels off and put the new ones on.
They love them!!! They can drink the wine and then keep the bottle.
