Asking MOH to step down

Asking MOH to step down

Has anybody done this? I can't decide if I should ask one of my MOHs to step down. I always pictured my two best friends to be my maid of honor, but now I don't know what to do. It's all of the little things that are adding up, like flat out telling me when my surprise Jack and Jill was and not coming to it, things like that. I can't get in touch with her EVER, if I leave her a message, she calls back a month later, and she knows absolutely nothing about the wedding. To be honest, I don't even think she knows the date of it. Obviously I don't expect my wedding to be a big deal to her, that's not it at all, I just don't know what to do! She's the type of friend that is only a friend when it's convenient for her, and it's driving me crazy! She lives in FL, so it will cost money to fly up here and stay overnight one night, so I already feel bad about that. I just don't know how to tell her that it's cool with me if she steps down. I know how expensive it can be to be a bridesmaid, so i feel bad. I just don't want our friendship to be ruined if I say anything

i am wondering if you can e-mail her and ask her if this is too much or any kid of fears she has.....which is why she is being resistant? or has she always been this way? i would do this then ask her to step off!
good luck

Yeah, I think I'm gonna email her and give her an option to see what she wants to do. It's fine by me if she steps down. She's always been the type of person that is just so spontaneous and is fun and does whatever she wants (a lot of times at the expense of me), and I've always realized this, but now it ***** because this is the time when I do need her and she's really unreliable. She'll always be my friend, but I think I need somebody more reliable as the wedding gets closer... thanks for listening!

yea ask her to step down, since she appears to be constantly busy, and tell her you'd love for her to be at her wedding party, but the MOH should not be so unattentive, and should actually show some enthusiasm, and yes u shouldnt be a bridezilla, but its YOUR wedding, and i know that every girl wants the wedding to perfect and its a big deal for her, try to talk to her/email and see what happens...update!

I am wondering why you are worried about losing a friend who -is only a friend when it is convienient to her- that's not a friend. If I were you I would ask her to step out of the party and out of my life. Friendship is 50/50 sometimes you give a little more and sometimes less. But this girl sounds like she could care less. Just bc you are friends with someone for a long time dosen't mean that when you grow up you still will be. People change and there is nothing you can do about that. It just sounds to me that this girl adds nothing to your life. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.
