Asking someone to be a BM

Can anyone give me some good ideas about how to ask my girls to be my bridesmaids? I want some cute, creative ideas. I would love to send something to their home and have them open up a box and be suprised. Any ideas would be appreciated!

hi congrats on getting engaged!
i hand made 'will you be my bms' cards and I mailed them to my bms. i personalized them with a poem below that was applicable for each bm and wrote them a sentimental letter on why I wanted them to be a part of my wedding and i also included a photograph of my bm & i.

another liw bride gave each bm a contract - which was really cute.

Here's some poems you may use:

you can google - will you be my bms ideas - that helped!

HTHs!

I am asking my BMs tonight! I made them cookies in the shape of a bridesmaid dress, put them in cute tins...and then I bought pretty cards from etsy that say 'will you be my bridesmaid'
Im taking them out to the melting pot for dinner! none of them know that the others are invited!

omg cleo, that is toooo funny! I literally tried that one!!!!

i ended up throwing it all in the garbage! it was soooo much work!

I made 6 sets of just the dolls, it took me about a week- and then i attempted the cut outs of the hair, I got about 12 done and I gave up- it's very tedious!

good luck- if you succeed let me know, i want to see the finished product!

Re: Asking someone to be a BM

I just sent my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew the cutest package! I got cookies to ask them to be in our bridal party. For my sister in law the cookie is shaped like a bridesmaid dress and says will you be my bridesmaid on it. Then for my nephew and brother- they each got a tux cookie with will you be my ring bearer and will you be my groomsman. They came out sooo cute and were a good size too! I wrapped them nicely in a small box and shipped it to them with their christmas gits :)

wow those ideas are really cute. When my friends were asked to be BM, all they got was a phone call asking them 'hey hon, you wanna be my bridesmaid?'..It was soo informal...

I made them each a gift bag with a poem that asked them to be my bridesmaid ... i then put the poem in a friends picture frame in the bag i put clear nail polish, eyeliner, lip gloss stuff like that ... i also put the flower i had at my wedding in each gift bag then i asked someone to deliver them for me... thats also how i told them i was engaged!!!

I made cute little detailed cards for each one of my bridesmaids, maid of honors and my junior bridesmaid. everyone loved it. there was a cute poem in each as well. and they were all personalized differently for each person.

also at my engagement party next weekend, I just had shirts made that says either 'bridesmaid' or 'maid of honor' and each of their names are on it. I also am giving them a little gift bag {containing the shirt, candles, and a beautiful braclet} just to show my appreciation for them being a part of my special day. after the party ill post pictures of everything!

Ahhhh so cute!! I am thinking of filling a box with ring pops with a cute poem/card to ask my junior BM.

I am toying with the idea of buying the BM book by Kristin Chenoweth, wrapping it in tons of pretty ribbons with a ring pop and poem. Too much?

I want to mail it to them and for it to be a suprise. I'm nuts I know.

When I have my E-party or Bachelorette get together I will totally do something similar to that- great idea.

how about making postcards with your favorite picture of you with that bridesmaid. the back could say : Will you be my bridesmaid?
