asking the bridal party

asking the bridal party

I planned on asking//telling our bridal party at the engagement party sometime this summer.

But I don't think the engagement party is going to happen because FMIL (who wants to throw it) doesn't really have the money.

How do I tell them?

Also, FH doesn't really know who he wants, he doesn't have many close friends and all his cousins are much older.

I NEED HELP, please!!

You should wait a little because sometimes you drift apart from your friends and you don't want to be stuck with someone in your BP that your not that close with. I would ask them around the year mark. I just asked them individually. Alot of girls on here have done cute things like get bridesmaid cards saying 'Would you be my bridesmaid'? or they have gotten cookies in the shape of dresses. Something like this Bridesmaid cookie & Bridesmaid cookie dress

Re: asking the bridal party

I plan to ask my bridemaids to come have lunch with me. I'll probably get the 'will you be my bridemaid?' cards to write the invitation out on, but I really like the cookie idea too! Because my girls are a mix (3 sisters, 1 cousin, 1 childhood best friend, and 2 college buds) I want to get them acquainted with eachother and start bonding, so I figured a lunch was the way to go. I've wanted the same girls since I was 17, so I plan to ask them this July seeing as i dont think it will change any time soon & the more time they have to hang out together the better. (also, they all really know they are in anyway, they just havent been 'formally' asked)

FH does not have many (any?) close enough friends to ask to be in the bridal party, so he will have our family members (he plans to ask 1 friend) and he said he doesnt want to do anything special, just bring it up casually during conversation that they are in the BP. he probably wont ask his friend until next year, but the family will probably know soon (again, most of the family already know they are in, just haven't been 'formally' asked)

A movie just came out about this whole not having enough close guy friends and needing a best man thing...I forgot the title, but I'm tempted to rent it haha

I like the lunch idea...that could work.

The movie is called I Love You, Man.
FH and I both thought it was histerical...I highly recommend seeing it. I think it might still be in theaters.

I just asked them. Pretty much all of them knew before I even got engaged....lol They are all close friends of mine (two of them I have been friends with for 20 years) and my MOH is my sister.
