Asking the FG -- would like your advice...

Asking the FG -- would like your advice...

FH and I were planning to ask his goddaughter/niece to be our FG when we go see his family for X-mas. I bought her the little FG book and I was planning on wrapping it up and giving it to her along with the rest of her X-mas gifts and surprising the family (they don't know) when she opens it. But I'm having second thoughts because what if her parents say no? I really don't think they will but they may not appreciate finding out this way... what do you girls think? Should I discuss it with her parents first?

I don't know how old she is - but I would ask her parents first - I cannot imagine what type of problem they would have with her being a FG - but just in case...
We didn't have that situation because our FG is only three years old so she wouldn't have even understood what we were asking her! Good Luck!

I would definatley ask the parents first. They are the ones that have to make the financial contribution...the dress, etc. If they say no problem...then go ahead and wrap the book for a Christmas present.

I am having 2 fg's and 2 rb's we asked the parents the night of our engagement party. We just said we would be honored if so and so would be our fg/rb.

The parents were so happy they almost cried.

I'm not having a FG, but would suggest clearing it with the parents first as it could be a financial committment.
