So I think I'm going to ask my girls to be my bridesmaids at our eparty in August. I'm not quite sure how to go about it though. I wanted to get the 'will you be my..' cards and since our eparty is a luau also getting them real Lei's. Do you stop the party and announce it or just go up to them one by one throughout the party and ask them? I need help!!! Please give me ideas!

uh oh... see my girls already know...i informally asked them, but i was thinking about writing a lil thing about each of them to say at the engagement party...like why i chose each of them.... is that tacky? please tell me. lol.

No not tacky at all. If that suits your personality, then I say go for it!!! I think it would be a really heartfelt moment for you and your girls

I'm making scrap books.............and giving them to each girl.
I made them those ..will you be my bridesmaids cards... and i am giving them the cards at the e-party

That is not tacky at all, i think the more peronal you make it the better, the girls will know how much you appreciate them

i think its different with each person... like as soon as i told my girls he proposed, they knew what their positions were, except for one of them...
so then like i informally asked them... t wasnt a big thing, but because im moving in less than a year, i really did need to speed things along a bit so we can all go together and try the dresses, and then they can all order them together in the same dye lot.
honestly, if you and your BP are close enough, they'll have the hint anyway.. i guess i lucked out because my BP is really small ( 1 maid of honor, 3 bridesmaids, 1 best man, 2 groomsmen (FH is trying to decide on a third) so because we're all so close, they kinda just figured it out.
are you having an engagement party? if so, you could possibly do it there... there are so many options for this, you can really choose exactly what you want to do based on your personal preferences.

The thing is that we have counted 7BM 7GM 1jrBM, 1jrGM, 3FG,3RB and that is a lot for us but, we have a lot of people close to us. I just feel people acting funny already so we wanted to wait until the beggining of next year before we ask anybody because things might change. Some people already have the idea though... we will see

At my e-party I had the cards and I got the girls corsage's. When they walked in I handed them the card and the corsage. It was a big hit. They loved the cards and you got a chance to write some personal things between the 2 of you.

i would pull each girl aside and ask that way you can have a 'moment' and i love the idea of the real lei for each girl

I like the idea of announcing it...then maybe giving them a special (but inexpensive) gift to signify that theyre BMs.
Or if theyre sitting at a designated table, give them a little present and write on the tag will you be my bm?

I did the same thing.... I think it's more a personal thing, plus you never know certain people dont like alot of attention drawn to them so to stop the whole party and make a huge announcement might make some of the uncomfortable.... just something to think about.
