Hi Girls!!! my wedding is not for another 18 months and i havent asked anyone yet to be in my bridal party...how far in advance should i ask them??? I dont want to ask them too soon or too late...

I was thinking the same thing. I also am having problems because their are people who assume they are going to be in it but aren't. I already asked my MOH but have 3 more that I will ask.
My friend who recently got married said not to ask too soon, because that is what she did and eventually had to give one the boot.....

I plan on asking my MOH asap, bc it is my sister...but as for the rest...im thinking maybe a little before a year.

I already asked everyone that I wanted to be in my BP...I wanted to make sure they knew by the engagement party.

I asked my 2MOH's and a BM already. And I'm mad that I asked her to be in the wedding because she is getting on my last nerve and it seems that since I have become engaged her jealousy is starting to come out and I'm afraid I'm going to really say something nasty to her. Hopefully she'll act right but if she doesn't when it's time to formally ask them she's not getting an invite to be one.

I asked everyone in my bridal party this year. I may ask 2 more people possibly. Unfortunatly I have a friend who wants to be in mine and I cannot include her(it was assumed b/c we were friends in hs and I told her she would).

The problem is that I can't decide if i want to put one of my friends in the bridal party...and i dont want to be upset later that i did or didnt ask her... we have a love/hate kind of relationship...HELP! haha

I have the same problem!!!! On one hand I dont want hurt anyones feelings, but I have a 'friend' who as my FH puts it 'Thinks out loud and has a very nasty thought process' - I know that if I dont choose her, her feelings will be hurt, but at the same time, I don't want to ask her and then wanna kick the crap out of her later!!!!!!

That's funny, sounds like my friend. I had told her I wanted to do family only except there is a friend whom I've become very close with and she is in my BP. All I can say is Drama will begin.

When I first got engaged back in 03 I asked 6 girls to be in my bridal party during my engagement party. Now I hardly talk to them and some are moving over seas this summer. I still have my MOH (my sister) and 2 BM's (FH's sister and my best friend) but I I will ask one more girl (FH's best friend girlfriend who we are very close to) and thats it. Im planning on giving them 'will you be my bridesmaid' cards with their christmas gift. Give it careful thought!!

I asked all of mine this past Summer. They where all soooo happy. They are always talking about it. They want to help me with everything they are great!!
