Asking your bridal party to be in the wedding?

Asking your bridal party to be in the wedding?

How did you guys ask your MOH/BMs to be a part in your wedding?

I'd like to ask my girlfriends and FSIL in a fun way! I saw on etsy a locket with the cardboard that has a saying and inside the locket you can put a note that says 'will you be my bridesmaid/MOH?' and I really like that idea!

Anyone else have stories or suggestions??

I had already asked (told haha) my MOH over the phone when I first got engaged... but then a few months later, I presented her with a MOH planner/organizer & gave her a card officially asking haha

I pretty much told my girls then had the three of them come out to dinner to get to know each other. I gave them all a candle & a frame that had a paper inside that said 'save for a picture from the wedding.'

They have a ton of cute stuff on etsy!

I told my MOH over lunch....came out of left field!! ahhaa but shes my cousin, so she is always there for me! :) anyways, no one else knows their going to be in my wedding party yet!! I ordered bridesmaid totes from the knot during their mega super sale! they were originally $30 and were on sale for $5 including personalization!
so i'm giving them the tote, a few other goodies along with a card in the mail since some live out of state. everyone will meet in june at our engagement party!

My bridal party pretty much knew already that they were going to be in it but I wanted to ask them in a fun way as well. I made up cards in Microsoft Publisher that had picture of a wedding gown on the front and printed on the inside were a few pictures of me and whomever on the one side and a cute poem asking them to be my moh/bm on the other side, I gave it to them along with a bridesmaid dress cookie I ordered from the Sugar Chic.

I asked my MOH when we went out for our monthly dinner and I asked the other girls over the phone.I did take them out to dinner and gave them a card that says thank you for being my bridesmaid, a bottle of wine and a personalized wine glass I made.

I went nuts with this. I did a whole little goody bag with a cookie from the sugar chic, wine glasses, card with a little poem, candles, and had them over for dinner to give them the giftbags. oh yeah bubbles too and little pins saying bm or moh, etsy was awesome. I got everything custom made. pictures are in my album of all the stuff I did.

I had cookies made at a bakery in Floral Park that were shaped like dresses and said 'Be My Bridesmaid?' I had them over for a dinner at my house which was when I gave it to them... I've been friends with the same girls forever, so they all had an idea, but it was nice because they hadn't all met FH's sister yet so they got to know one another.

I asked my girls in a cute way, they all pretty much knew something was up when I asked them all over. I did a diy thing. I got popcorn buckets from the dollar store (we are doing a movie sorta theme) each bucket I put microwave popcorn packet, a mini bottle of wine, lip gloss ( I work for mac) for my guy bridesmaid (he's my gay best friend) I gave him an eos lol. I ordered cookies from sugar chic in my wedding colors after a horrible attempt to do it myself lol. I do not decorate neat enough. I made personalized elaborate cards with a poem that I saw on pinterest and did it on colored paper that matched my wedding colors and decorated it and framed them as a keep sake for them. I also made a funny poem one as the gift tags for each gift. I wrapped the buckets in celophane that matched one of my wedding colors and tied with a ribbon of the other color and attached the gift tag. Months later my girls are still talking about it and they loved them.

I 'snail mailed' my BM's cards from etsy asking to be my bridesmaids. I asked my MOH the second we got engaged...we were far away in Alaska and just was too excited to contain myself. I also got her a Kate Spade bracelet to 'officially' ask her. I just got them their personalized bent wire dress hangers for Christmas

For my MOH (my sister) I mailed her (she is away at college) a Maid Of Honor tote bag with a Maid of Honor koozie, A nail file with Essie Made to Honor nailpolish, a bridesmaid handbook, and the Maid of Honor DVD,a ring pop, along with a tiny bow necklace I got from Etsy to represent tying the knot :)

For my Bridemaids and Junior Bridemaids I got them the small bow necklace, a ring pop and a nail file along with an Essie nail polish that corresponded with the wedding (ex. Sole Mate, Bachelorette Bash, Happily Ever After, Tying the knot, Borrowed & Blue, True Love, Blushing Bride)

I also enclosed a card to the bridemaids & MOH

Had an etsy vendor make up personalized boxed cards with ribbons in our wedding colors. I attached the earrings for the wedding day to each one. I presented them during a couple of family dinners since some of my party are from out of town. They were a big hit!

For each of them, I painted a wooden box in my wedding colors and filled it with everything that inspired my wedding: paint chips, pictures of dresses, cakes, flowers. At the bottom, I had a card with the question, 'Will you be mybridesmaid?' I got them to look through it by asking if they wanted to see my wedding inspiration box lol...they were surprised when they got to the bottom.

I'm totally jacking this idea! I'm meeting up with my gf's this weekend to exchange Xmas gifts. They already basically know that they're in the BP, but this is a great way to ask! Thanks
