Assaulted on my way to work - 5 months pregnant!!!!

I was on my way to work this morning via MTA subway as usual. There was a delay in the service because of a sick passenger. Once the train began to move they announced we would be skipping stops from 86th street / lexington to 59th street. I thought..GREAT FOR ME..because I get off at 42nd/Grand Central to catch the shuttle. We arrive at 42nd street and there is a MASSIVE amount of people trying to get off and on the train. I was walking with the crowd and heard a lady behind me huffing because I guess we weren't moving fast enough for her. There was a black woman in front of me and I waited to let her pass when all of the sudden the woman from behind me (white lady) pushed me so hard that I fell into the woman in front of me. At that moment, the black lady started punching me in my face and then hit me in my stomach. I didn't realize at first what was happening but when I did I yelled at her ' WHAT THE F**K is wrong with you!!' She said 'Don't push me!!' I said 'I didn't push you, you stupid f****in b**ch and I'm 5 months pregnant!!' She said 'I don't give a f***k' and put her bags down to come after me again. There was an MTA employee standing right there..mind you he did absolutely NOTHING!!!! He saw this woman assault me, heard me say I was pregnant, and saw her coming after me again..and did NOTHING! I screamed at him 3 times to get a cop here because I wanted to press charges..and after the 3rd time he did and the lady said, you aren't pressing charges on me and ran up the steps. I looked at him and said thanks for nothing! I went upstairs and found another MTA worker and got him to get me a cop, and he did IMMEDIATELY!! I explained to them what happened and they were furious!! Of course this woman got away..but I'm hoping the train station has surveillance because they said they can pull the tapes and find her. My husband (being that he is a cop) spoke with the police officer who helped me and she was telling him she was going to go to the MTA employees supervisor to place a complaint against him as well because he should have held the woman and called them the same way they would if THEY were getting assaulted. They offered to have an ambulance come and check me out, because I was having cramps, but I opted to go home and go to my GYN. She walked me to the bus and made sure I got on. I went to the doctor and THANK GOD everything is ok..but I tell you..people in this world today are EVIL!! God forgive me, but I hope this woman gets run over by a damn truck or worse!! And as for the MTA..I think they ALL suck!! They don't do sh** all damn day..and get paid ridiculously while we get treated like CRAP as their customers!! Unbelievable!!

Needless to say..although I would LOVE more than anything to wait for this woman at 42nd street because I remember her face CLEARLY..and MACE her a**, I will take the express bus to avoid the ghetto savage people of NYC!!!

You poor thing!! I'm so sorry you had such an awful experience, especially when you're pregnant!

I really wish it were a bad movie. It seemed so unreal at the time..and when it finally registered, I completely forgot I had mace in my bag and a camera phone. It's amazing how people don't want to get involved these days..and it's also very sad. This has to be the worst thing aside from getting mugged that has happened to me on the train. I've been pushed to get a seat, heard MEN say I don't give up seats to pregnant woman unless they are ready to pop, elbowed in my stomach and now this...

I swear if I didn't have to work I wouldn't. I tried to relax when I got home, but everytime I close my eyes I see this womans face.

I am so so soooo sorry that this happened to you. It's beyond horrible, and you have every right to be furious, but please don't think every new yorker is like that. I am a city girl - born and raised, and neither I, nor anyone I know, would EVER act like that. Some people are just mentally unstable and awful, and you were unfortunate enough to come across one of them. I really really hope that you catch that crazy b!tch, and that she gets what she deserves.

What nerve people have to do something like that--pregnant or not! It's easier said than done, but you should take it easy and relax--both you and baby need the rest.

i almost can't believe what i just read...i am so sorry for what happened to you, people are disgusting. what a nasty human being that woman was, she'll get what's coming to her. as for the MTA employee, they better fire him.

i feel so bad that you had to go through that, but i'm so glad you and the baby are ok!!
