No, if they are out, I am here. If she's traveling overseas, I try to get in early and I leave early to try to bridge the time difference. When she's on vacation (which is hardly ever) I tend to get in a little later and leave a little earlier. Sometimes I work from home. My firm has a really great remoting access system. Many people do that here.

Nope - I have to be here. Actually its more difficult for me to take a day off when my boss IS NOT here as opposed to when he IS here. He freaks out that too many things will fall through the cracks if I am out of the office when he is

Re: Assistants
When I was an assistant I HAD to be in the office. My boss was a disaster and I always had to ship things to her etc. and take care of things she forgot to do. She would call in ALOT. God forbid I wasn't there to pick up on the first ring boy would I hear it!

Me too! Actually I am not officially an assistant, but I may as well be. If he isn't here I CANNOT take that day off, or if he needs to leave early I have to stay a 1/2 hour later
