Anyone had their wedding or been to a wedding at Astoria World Manor (awm-ny.com) in Queens?

yes, I went to a wedding there, I think it does the job for a Queens location. The area it's in isn't very nice to look at, the Cocktail hour - the food was very good. The Reception food was basic wedding choices, nothing to rave about, Salmon, steak, chicken....

I know it used to be HORRIBLE. Since they're under new management I heard it's gotten a lot better, but still not anything fantastic.

It's very much your typical catering hall type venue. Nothing spectacular about it.

My mother said that it was a nice place, food was good.
I was going to look at it, but turned the car around when i realized it was practically under the Tri-borough bridge.

This has nothing to do with how it is now - but - My mom was married there in 1975! - i was also christened there- it used to be a really great place!

Where do you live - if in LI, then I wouldn't choose Astoria Manor with all the other choices you have, honestly, I think it's mainly for those in queens or brooklyn that want something local.
