^$%#$@ SQUIRRELS!!

They're eating my pumpkins!! Little brazen rodents! Now that they totally gnawed away at them, I might as well leave them the snack and I have these half chawed pumpkins sitting in front of my house. The only good thing is Luke (and the cat too) does like to watch them eat.

Anyone have any success leaving pumpkins outside? They looked so cute on the stoop, I'm very disappointed in the squirrels. We only have 4 oak trees on our property - and 10 more in the vicinity, you'd think they be happy with that!

I remember seeing something about spraying the pumpkins with hairspray to keep squirrels away.

They don't like the taste...

DH won't let me leave pumpkins outside- because of squirrels. They're terrible rodents- I never really disliked them until one got in the house! The previous homeowner told us she used to sprinkle the red hot chili powder around her garden to keep the rabbits and squirrels out- I haven't tried it but apparently they don't like the stuff...

SO far my pumpkins are still in tact on my porch...I hope that doesn't happen to me and I know for a fact that squirrels like our front tree because there have been nests there twice. That must be annoying!

the squirrels ate my pumpkins too, i had to throw them out.

Try sprinkling it with Tabasco sauce or cayenne pepper. That should keep them away.
My dad uses taboaco sauce.

squirrels are so annoying!! they eat the sod and annoy my dogs all the time too!

you think squirrels are bad, we have DEER! and lots and lots and lots of them! stupid deer poor everywhere! damn jersey. never saw a deer up close til we moved here!

i can't plant flowers because of those monsters!!

we have squirrels and raccoons - talk about buffet style - they love our pumpkins and of course, any palnts - veggie or flowers - we put in this year - so i share in your frustration!!

I'm probably the only person who loves watching the wildlife eat her plants. Seriously, I get such a kick out of watching them, so does FI! I guess we just figure we'll plant more. We've got deer, pheasant, racoons, squirrels, woodchucks, chipmunks, rabbits, possums...and I'm sure a lot more that we don't see.
