At what point should I book a florist....

I am still a little under a year away...but I have booked the band/photo/video. Should I book the florist now before I know my colors, etc. or do I wait and do it later on?
If I book now, will they give me a quote?

I would book it now just to hold your date. The populat florists book up fast. I did that even though I didnt have my dress or my bridesmaid dresses picked out yet. My florist told me to come back closer to my date to decide on the exact bouquets.

Small private florists are probably not booked yet but if you want something like flower michele or burtons I know they book up quickly so I would look now. You don't have to give them your colors yet, just look at their work.

It is never too early to book anything on LI! That is what I have learned through this prcess thus far. I have booked everything pretty early and it has been great because I have gotten all of the vendors I wanted and never had to worry.

My wedding is in June next year, and I'm booking my florist this month....so I would say by January you should have booked a florist to ensure that you get the date booked.

I would definitely book now. They don't need to know exactly what you're looking for-----you can decide all of that later on.

I have already booked my florist and I am a day before you. I would book them regardless of knowing the color you want for your girls dresses.

I would definately book as soon as possible to guarantee your date. September is a busy month and as other brides said, the best vendors book up fast. Good luck!

I would definitely book as soon as you decide you like someone-especially to hold you date on Photo and Video!!! Those vendors once they are booked they are booked

Oh, wow...guess I thought I had a break I guess I will start looking at florists. I am just wondering....flowers are the one thing I am really trying to bargain hunt on . Do I just tell the florist how much I want to spend and see what options each florist has to show me in my range? My wedding is in westchester so I was thinking of using a local florist up there.
