Just wanted to say that atkins food products aren't so bad. The other night I made the banana nut muffins... yummy! Tonight FH picked up some pancake mix they have out. I will be making them this Sat, so will let ya know how it is. We picked up the sugar free syrup from the supper market the other night. And also, those candy bars and stuff they have out are great. They really meet that sweet tooth. We have been getting most of this stuff at GNC. I know the Vitimann shop and CVS also carries a lot of Atkin stuff.

Re: Atkins foods
I think you can only have a minimal amount of carbs like 20 or 25 to start with.

Re: Atkins foods
Chrissy- You are allowed 20 G carbs per day. These food products made by Atkins are already calculated for you. So say you want the pancakes... for 4 pancakes (one serving size) = 4 G of carbs. It is that easy and their foods aren't so bad.

Ladies you are allowed anywhere form 15 to 20 net carbs a day on the induction phase of Atkins

And, I might add...It's very hard to get those 15 to 20 carbs a day on induction!! I'm usually between 12 and 15!

Re: Atkins foods
The blueberry muffins and brownies are great!!!!
But the older Atkin's product line was just as good and had fewer carbs per serving than the new ones I bought out Trader Joe's stock when I found out they were discontinuing the original brownie mix 5 carbs per serving and the new one has 8 carbs per serving..... We only have them for very special occassions......

Re: Atkins foods
Be careful wit the low-carb sweets . . .I havebeen visiting the forum at LOWCARBEATING.COM because I have not beenlosing as I expected. I was advized that the atkins low-carb products and other low carb sweets may slowdown or stop your weight loss, so just be sure be careful. I was eating the advantage bars for brekfast everyday and would have low carb chocolates occassionally for snack and wasn't losing anymore. I cut them outand have started losin again.

Re: Atkins foods
BriBri, I have heard the same thing. There is a big debate on the sugar alcohols which are used in the bars, whether or not they are actually absorbed into the body or not.

Re: Atkins foods
Hi, I think with the sweets you have to try to limit them since they are high in calories. Plus they can cause gas......
