Atlantic marine world in Riverhead...pros n cons?

This is our first choice to hold our wedding. My FH went to a Wedding there and loved it. We are making an appointment to see it. Any idea on prices per person? We want Saturday night but not crazy expensive.....anyone have any pros n cons about it?

I'm pretty sure my brother and sister in law had a deposit down for this place. They were then informed that it was closing and their reception would have to be moved to another location. They didn't like that because they wanted the first place so they asked for their deposit back. I know that was a big fight to get it back too. I will definitely try and find out more info for you though in case I am wrong.

What I heard about Atlantis- and someone please correct me if I'm wrong- you have to bring everything in? Tables, chairs, table/chair linens etc etc and there's a site fee? I know some of the mansions you have to do this as well, like Oheka.

I could be wrong. Atlantis looked really pretty in the pictures though!

I know Atlantis has the sea star ballroom in the Hyatt now. It is really know, opened less than a year ago. What's nice is that the aquarium is another something for your guests to do. Plus the ballroom is right in the hotel so you don't have to worry about transportation. FH checked it out once, he said it's nice, but very modern and the view isn't spectacular (mostly parking lot.) We were going for a more traditional feel, but if you like modern - it could be a really fun choice!

I got married there 3 weeks ago. And i got so many compliments it was unbelievable... It was BEAUTIFUL!

My guests have said the food and cake was amazing...and there was a rediculous amount too...almost too much.

The staff is A+

I actually had a guest book her sons wedding after going to ours. just spoke to her today.

Any questions about the venue you can ask me. But the day was perfect...beautiful...different....many people told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

I am really happy with every aspect and urge people to check out a showcase there.

It's a little shaddy that your one post is to brag about a venue. You all of a sudden found LIW. Sounds like a vendor post

I actually post on the knot under the same name and have almost 1000 posts if you care to look me up. I'm a bride, I just had my wedding at Atlantis not a vendor just letting people know that if they have questions they can ask as i know first hand and I'll tell them since there's a lot of non truthful information about the venue like having to provide tables and whatnot. Not true. just lending my 2 cents is all. This also applies for my other vendors as well. I can only share my experiences.

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding here August 2011. It was honestly one of the greatest weddings I've been to. The ceremony was outside under a little pavilion overlooking the water. CH was outside with 2 bars, passed appetizers, and stations. The reception was in the aquarium main area when you first walk in. The dance floor and bar is separate from the rest of the reception, but it's so open there that it isn't an issue. The food was buffet style and it was set up so you walked through the aquarium and had all the tanks to look at while you waited. The food was nothing spectacular, but certainly not bad by any means. Their prices were also very reasonable.

I originally wanted my wedding here!! You dont have to bring everything in. The only reason I didn't choose it is that we have a lot of guests coming from NJ, Staten Island & Bklyn and we felt it was a long ride for them. DEFINITELY check it out!!!

Again I'm not a vendor Jeeeeez. You ladies need to cool it. I have a review posted on the li board on the knot. I paid for my wedding, my vendors etc. I'm not a vendor I'm merely a bride very satisfied with my venue, I don't know why you all don't grasp that.
